The MVP-2000(r) supports MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 video encoding standards. Use any third party hardware or software encoder which meets the following guidelines: MPEG-1 System Stream or MPEG-2 Program Stream (consisting of a single elementary video stream with an optional single elementary audio stream). Transport streams are not compatible. MPEG filenames must have no more than eight characters (DOS 8.3 format) with [.mpg] as the extension. Still MPEG file format: Must comply with above requirements.

MPEG files are encoded from your video using a variety of hardware and software-base encoding methods. Once encoded, these files are then transferred to the MVP-2000(r)'s hard drive via a 10BASE-T Ethernet access port. Or you can remove its hard drive and place it directly into your encoding station. When finished encoding, you can place the drive back in the MVP-2000r, eliminating the need for a network file transfer process.

Just as a cassette in a videotape library requires a certain amount of space to store, an MPEG file will require a certain amount of storage space on a hard drive. MPEG files can be encoded at varying data rates. As the data rate increases, the picture quality also increases, but so does the file size. If the total anticipated size of all the MPEG files you plan to encode exceeds the available hard drive space, you must either reduce the MPEG encoding rate or increase the available disk space.

Yes. The MVP-2000(r) is equipped with RS-232 communication ports which can be used to control all system functions. However, it is important to realize that when transferring large files such as MPEG files, using the RS-232 port will result in substantially longer transfer times. It is strongly recommended that the Ethernet access port on the MVP-2000(r) be used whenever possible.

Microsoft Photo Info supports many of the properties in the Information Interchange Model 4 specification as published by the International Press Telecommunications Council (IPTC). Microsoft Photo Info can read and write these properties in either the legacy IPTC IIM format (the well-known "IPTC headers" supported in Adobe Photoshop and other programs) or in the newer Adobe Extensible Metadata Platform (XMP) metadata format, depending upon the file type.

If the computer has installed the appropriate audio and video decoder based on DirectShow, the program can support it. If you install RM or QT decoder based on DirectShow, the program also supports them. But these decoders are not released by official website, they may have bugs and not stable.
