The newest ink jet transfer papers actually wash better than the existing laser papers. Although the printers are inexpensive, the cost to make a transfer, however, is much greater for ink jet, both for the paper as well as inks. Additionally, ink jet printers are considerably slower than lasers. If you are going transfer high voliums, we recommend laser. They give you the ability to print on almost anything, including ceramics and the cost for color laser printers have gone down in price.

Dot matrix printers have been around for many years. They use impact printing like a typewriter. Tiny little pins actually shoot out and hit the ribbon against the page to form letters. This works well with the multi-part forms. The drawbacks are that they are extremely slow with Windows and the quality is low compared to today's standards. Bubble jet printers have little jets that squirt ink out on the paper to form the letters on the page.
