For Caucasian patients we prefer that you do not use these products while you are having laser sessions. Simply said, the lighter your skin stays, the better your results will be. When your skin is tan we have to "protect the pigment in your skin" from the laser. When your skin is lighter, we can simply target the pigment in your hair with more energy. You should use a moisturizer regularly to keep your skin hydrated and healthy, which will contribute to a more even, natural-looking sunless tan. However, it is recommended NOT to apply moisturizers 2 hours prior to self tanning and 4 to 6 hours afterwards. A moisturizer applied immediately prior to self tanning could interfere with the reaction of the DHA (the active self tanning ingredient) with your skin.
