Unlike 35mm cameras that store images on film, Panasonic digital cameras store images on SD Cards, which make sharing and storing your pictures easy and convenient. You simply insert a SD Card into the camera, take pictures until the card is full, and then you can download the pictures onto your PC, erase some or all of the images on the card and use it again, or you can just replace it with a fresh card.

Digital Cameras store their images on removable media called "Memory Cards". Consider them the "digital film" for the camera. Each picture you take is stored as a file on this card. The pictures can be downloaded to your computer or you can bring the Memory Card to us to have prints made or the images burned to a CD.

DRAM requires power to store data. Assuming you have a DRAM card that is compatible with your camera, when you remove the card from your camera the pictures will be lost. SRAM cards also require power. SRAM cards, however, have a built-in battery to store information. Therefore, they have a fixed shelf life equal to the life of the onboard battery. After a certain period of time, the SRAM battery has to be replaced just like a watch or a camera battery needs replacement.

Instead of capturing light on a piece of photo-sensitive film like a film camera, a digital camera reads light using an image sensor, typically a CCD or CMOS sensor, and stores the information to memory as a digital picture file. The more pixels a CCD uses to read light, the more detailed the photos are.

Digital cameras are wonderful tools that allow us to capture our images in many different ways. The camera is designed to actually take three pictures; one in red, one in green and the other in blue (similar to the way a projection TV works). It then combines the colours together and saves the image onto the picture card. It is very important to make sure that the camera is set to the highest quality setting possible. You want to create the best quality picture that the camera can make.

Digital cameras have a sensor that converts light into electrical charges. The image sensor housed in most digital cameras is a charge coupled device (CCD). The CCD is a collection of tiny light-sensitive diodes, which convert photons (light) into electrons (electrical charge). These diodes are called photosites. Each photosite is sensitive to light. The Mavica FD-73 captures pictures directly onto a floppy disk. There are a number of settings, but the one we like is the "email" setting. x 240 pixels - this is the perfect size to use for pictures you want to use on your eWebsite! One of the nicer features in our salon suite is the ability to add pictures to a client's record in our database. The first step is to transfer your pictures onto your computer. Your camera may have come with a system to download pictures to your computer, in which case you should consult your users guide or manual. My pictures are taken in an extra room that sees very little traffic. The camera is placed on a tripod and the legs of the tripod are placed on tape marks I have on the floor. Some cameras are designed for this, so you should check your manual. It's rare to find this feature in high quality digital cameras, but lower quality multifunction cameras with CMOS sensors sometimes offer this. See, for example, AipTek. If your camera doesn't already support some webcam features, you may still be able to do it if you have a video capture card (or USB device) of some kind, by connecting the video out from your camera to the video in on your PC.

The good news is, unless you are shooting close-up pictures of jewelry, you don't need an expensive camera to take good product shots. If you are shooting pictures for use on websites and not for print, you can get a good camera for less than $200. The quality of your images is going to depend much less on the sophistication of your camera and much more on your lighting and how well you operate the camera.

Consult your digital camera's user manual to determine if it has the ability to take and produce the types of prints you desire. Check your user manual for instructions about settings to ensure the proper resolution; features vary from camera to camera.

Digital EOS cameras assume you’re going to be applying sharpening filters to the images once they arrive on your personal computer. In other words they don’t do much by the way of sharpening inside the camera so as to give you lots of control over the image. So all you need to do is to apply a little sharpening (eg: “unsharp mask”) to your pictures and they should look quite sharp and crisp.

Once you have properly connected your camera to your computer (see FAQ #2 listed above), your computer will see your camera (connected and powered on) as a disk drive - most likely listed as "removable disk." Now that you know where to look to find the images, they can be viewed and/or downloaded in a variety of programs. Pictures cannot be directly uploaded into the OneShot360 web system software from a digital camera. The images need to be saved as jpeg format images first, which is normally accomplished through software supplied by the camera manufacturer. The saved jpeg images can be dragged and dropped into the OneShot360 web system application for further processing.

No problem, just mail-in your pictures along with your payment and we will scan them for you and add them to your listing. If you want your pictures returned you must include a self-addressed stamped envelope along with them.

Cause : You have modified the pictures or you have placed them in a folder other than the one the camera uses. Solution : If you have modified the pictures, most cameras will no longer be able to see the pictures. In the future do not modify the pictures if you need to see them again with the camera. If you placed them in the wrong folder, please put them in the folder you originally found them in. Most cameras  will only use the folder they create to see the pictures.

The Photo Shops onboard have mini digital photo labs that allow you to have pictures burned onto a CD. Pictures from a digital cameras cannot be transferred to a CD from the computers onboard our ships.
