How do I acquire a Schengen visa for my exchange student for a trip to EU countries?
AFS - an experience for a lifetimeMany AFSers need a visa in order to go abroad from Switzerland. The exchange student is himself/herself responsible for acquiring a visa at the embassy in charge. Depending on his/her home country it is possible that he/she will not be granted a visa (Thailand, Columbia and others!). Therefore we recommend that exchange students contact the embassy as soon as possible (at least 2 months in advance) and make an appointment.
