Typical character conversations will all occur as subtitles, with full-voice only in cutscenes. Full voicing the entire game would have required about 8 CDs.

That's not likley since all the main characters have actors, and many of the actors are capable of voicing multiple parts. Feel free to send auditions of your voicework for future animations however. Great, but it will not be used. The story is already written and characters are finalised far in advance of the animation.

Originally in the first few cartoons, William Costello, aka, Red Pepper Sam did the voice. He was fired early on. The voice that is best known is that of Jack Mercer who was an in-betweener at the studio. He was responsible for all the mumbling and asides and the great Popeye laugh. Olive's voice was done by Mae Questel who also did Betty Boop's voice. Gus Wickie did the original voice of Bluto. During the war when Mercer was overseas, Mae Questel did Popeye's voice for 6 or 7 cartoons!

It's called a Vocoder. It uses a carrier wave which is basically a noise that is in tune. It also uses another input which is for speech, it combines the two and allows you to play the keyboard to make a tune with the speech. Vocoders are sometimes built into keyboard, and there are various software packages that have vocoders in them, like Reason 3.0 and Fruity Loops.

Character proposals can be rejected for any number of reasons. Typically, we are looking for character sheets that are anywhere between 1,000 and 1,500 words in length. Anything that is significantly shorter than this will automatically be sent back to you for reworking. Similarly, whilst the CN staff will correct any minor punctuation, grammar or spelling mistakes, chronic errors or profiles that contain no discernable grammar/punctuation will again be rejected.

RePete: I wondered what it would be like to talk through a YAMAHA SPX-90 with my voice detuned. I then came up with "Clarence Washington" and "Stu Jaimison". Then about 6 months later I thought it might sound funny to talk in a raspy voice. At first "Willie" was a slow, low-key character. Then I finally decided that Willie needed to be more energetic and outspoken. Willie slowly evolved into the wacko that he is.

Well, on a conscious level, I don't steal people's work. It's just stupid. But on an unconscious level, I may have drawn them a certain way that looks "right" to me. I taught myself to draw the characters by looking at other webcomics around the place (ie: Sluggy Freelance, 3 finger salute, Polymer City, and a number of others) and learning how things were drawn (hands, heads, torsos, etc). A character is a customized model. A model may be customized to fit your need by changing the wardrobe, glasses, facial hair, skin color, hairstyle and more. The customized model is referred to as 'character'. A character may be added to a scene or saved in the library for future usage.

That is entirely up to you. But it is preferably if the name sounds like something taken from the SW universe. To avoid confusion, be carefull of chosing established characters like Leia, Luke etc. Chances are someone has taken that name allready.

In the Japanese version, TAKAYAMA, Minami. Amazingly, she also did the voice of Ursula. Ursula is a grown-up Kiki, who now knows her way and is a bit more sure of herself. HONNA Yuko. She was about the same age as Shizuku at that time. She also played Taeko (in 5th grade) in "Only Yesterday". Actually, other voice actors also migrated from "Only Yesterday" to "Mimi". Seiji was played by TAKAHASHI Kazuo, who also played one of the boys in Taeko's childhood scenes. Shiho, Shizuku's older sister, was played by YAMASHITA Yorie, who also played Taeko's older sister.

A voice print is a digital representation of the unique features of an individual's voice. Voices differ due to a number of physiological characteristics such as the vocal chords, trachea, nasal passages, how the tongue moves inside one's mouth to produce certain sounds, etc. The combination of these characteristics is analyzed and identified as unique for everyone. A voice print is not a sound file (recording) of the individual and therefore cannot be replayed as a recording by an impostor.
