Each restroom does have a chair that can be used by nursing mothers but privacy screens are not available. However, you may request to use one of our medical units located at each entrance of the Zoo. Please make your request at either entrance's Welcome Center.

Yes. These stations are located in all restrooms (men's and women's restrooms.) The Zoo does not sell diapers.

Yes. Starting January 1, 2007, the North Carolina Zoo is a Smoke-free facility. Please observe the Park Policy to only smoke outside Zoo gates. Visitors who wish to smoke may present their daily admission receipt for express re-entry.We appreciate the attention to our concern for a healthy environment.

The Zoo is located in Asheboro, North Carolina. This city is almost in the geographical center of the state. It is approximately 1 hour from Greensboro, home of Piedmont Triad International Airport, and one hour and forty-five minutes from Charlotte, home of Charlotte Douglas International Airport. The Zoo has two entrance and exit locations. You may enter or exit at the North America continent or at the Africa continent. The entire Zoo can be seen from either entrance. The transportation service inside the Park stops near both these entrances. One price allows you to enter or exit at either continent on the same day. Please keep your receipt or have your hand stamped to re-enter at no cost and to use the express entry.

Visa, MasterCard and American Express are accepted at each of the admission gates and gift shops. The food establishments accept cash only.

Yes. The Zoo has a limited number of lockers for rent on a daily basis. The North America entrance has sixteen (16) lockers that measure 16" wide x 22" high x 30" deep and are $1 for the day. Lockers are also located outside the Africa entrance at the Lakeside Restrooms and vary in size. The largest of these lockers are 16" wide x 23" high x 30" deep and we have 36 of these that rent for $1 a day.

Yes. At each entrance's parking lot signs will direct you to the bus and RV parking lots. Our RV parking areas are not equipped for overnight parking or camping. Please do not pull buses or RVs to either entrance for loading and/or unloading of passengers.

The North Carolina Zoo is open every day of the year except Christmas Day. The animals are taken off exhibit at closing regardless of the amount of daylight hours remaining. Ticket sales end 30 minutes prior to the Park's closing. For more detailed information, check Hours and Ticket sections. The Zoo is occasionally closed due to severe weather days. Please call our 1-800-488-0444 information line to check prior to visiting.

Maps are given at each of the entrance location Admissions booths upon purchase of a ticket. A map is also available online.

Yes. The Zoo has picnic areas located outside of the Park at both the North America and Africa entrances. Health Department regulations do not allow food or drink to be brought into the park. Coolers and other picnic items are not allowed inside the Park. Feel free to leave the Park at any point during the day and picnic at one of our outside locations. Just remember to get your hand stamped or to have your receipt ready to show to re-enter the Park at no cost and to use our express entry.

Some of the animals we have had as pets or in our possession for many years, others have been purchased from breeders, and several are rescues. The bear, cougar, wolves ,coyote, whitetail, bison, skunk, tortoise, alligator, fox and more have all been rescued.

The entire park (including exhibits and undeveloped land) is almost 50 acres with more than 700 animals from around the world, plus train and pony rides for kids, and a granary to feed animals. Most visitors stay for 3 to 5 hours, but it really depends on how long you want to stay at the zoo.

Since 1969 the Shoreline Nursing Program has met the standards for national accreditation. This accreditation is awarded by the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission based on national standards. These standards are designed to examine a program to determine whether it is providing a high quality of nursing education. There are currently two fire stations located in downtown Grayslake and on Brae Loch Road near the College of Lake County. A cooperative effort with the Village of Grayslake and the College of Lake County made the construction of a second fire station possible. This fire station opened in April of 2004 and has dramatically lowered response times to the eastern portion of the Grayslake Fire Protection District such as Grayslake east of Atkinson Road, Wildwood, Gages Lake, and Third Lake.

CustomerLink has 152 workstations. Of these, 80 are blended inbound/outbound stations, and 72 are equipped with predictive dialing technology. All of our stations are equipped with high-speed, wireless Internet service. CustomerLink employs 150 sales and service representatives.

They serve two purposes. For those people pushing hard on the hydraulic machines, they act as "rest" stations and allow the user's heart rate to lower into their target zone. For those people not pushing quite as hard, they act as aerobic stations and serve to elevate the heart rate into their target zone. The format of LadyPlex is work/recovery/work/recovery, which burns more calories and help eliminate boredom.

We do not receive funding from Culture Works. We do exchange moral support, information and good will with them. Ohio Educational Telecommunications allocations for both WDPR and WDPG (that amount has been cut 4 times already this year) Corporation for Public Broadcasting allocations are based on a fraction of what we are able to raise independently in the community

We currently have 5 stations. Station #2 is located at Eighth and Lincoln (downtown), Station #3 is located at Siskiyou and Highland (Bear Creek Park), Station #4 is located at Table Rock Road and Berrydale (Railroad Park) and Station #5 is located at Roberts Road and North Keene Way (North High). Station #6 was opened on June 27, 2000 and is located at Barnett and North Phoenix.

This number is naturally a moving target, as IR is constantly opening new stations. Moreover, it is difficult to get a precise count of "stations" when considering junctions that have different gauges, stations with remote or differently named cabins or signalling sheds, derelict or abandoned stations, metropolitan areas with many stations and many branch lines that sometimes run parallel or intersect repeatedly, etc. of 1999, IR's official web site claimed a total count of 6984 stations.

No. The Zoo does not provide kennel services nor does it make recommendations on kennels. The only exception to this rule is for service animals accompanying guests with disabilities. These visitors are asked to register at the Visitor Services Office located at each entrance's welcome center. We discourage visitors bringing pets and leaving them in parked vehicles due to the rapid heating of vehicles.

Yes. We have single and double strollers for rent. The single strollers have a 60-lb. weight limit and accommodate one child only. The double strollers have a 100-lb. weight limit and accommodate two children. Each type of stroller has a retractable canopy top and net pouch on the back with a 5-lb. weight limit. These strollers can be loaded on the Zoo's transportation vehicles. The user must fold all strollers (personal or rental) prior to loading on the trams or buses.

Guests are encouraged to bring their own wheelchairs to the zoo. The zoo has a very limited number of electric wheelchairs available for a rental fee of $25/day. A very limited number of manual wheelchairs are available for a rental fee of $6/day. All wheelchairs, electric or manual, are available on a first come first serve basis. Entry refunds are not provided if wheelchairs are not available for rent. Reservations are not taken.

You need to obtain the zoo keeper's uniform so you can wonder around without being spotted. The zoo keeper is the guy in the blue uniform who occasionally leaves the zoo for the house at the bottom of the map. The Green Beret can also gain access to the zoo by climbing the wall into the lion cage.

Students should formally apply to the Nursing Program the semester in which they will have finished all of the academic prerequisites (all math, English, science, and humanities and social science courses, i.e., all required classes that don't have a Nursing prefix).
