However Microsoft claim that Vista has limited support for VB6 applications, which our software is, so it should be possible to install the correct runtime libraries to facilitate this. I just upgraded from version 5.3 to 6.x of Total Recorder, and when I tried to record in silent mode, with the 4x acceleration option on, the recordings still happen in real time (though silently). In Total Recorder Version 6.0, the accelerated recording mode algorithm was changed. More controls were implemented to avoid the player hanging and to prevent sound distortion.
