Consistent with the UNCG Graduate School we require a minimum GRE score of 500 on both the verbal and quantitative sections. We require a minimum GPA of 3.0. Candidates who have GRE scores and GPA below the minimum are evaluated on an individual basis and may require a provisional acceptance by the Graduate School if the ATEP Admissions Committee deems them an appropriate candidate for the program.

OSU requires a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale) in all previous undergraduate and graduate work for regular admission to graduate school. We require the general GRE exams; we do not require the GRE subject exam. (The average total GRE score for Statistics/Biostatistics students arriving with TA funding in autumn of 2001 was 1974; the median was 2020.

We really cannot say based only on your GPA, GRE and (for international students) TOEFL scores what your chances of admission and a funding offer are. We look at the entire application, including your courses (and grades in them), your personal statement, and your letters of recommendation.

In general, we look for at least a B undergraduate average, but the overall record is of primary importance. Individual programs may be interested in how an applicant did in specific courses, whether the undergraduate background course work was adequate for the program, and whether the applicant showed a pattern of improvement during undergraduate study. There is no specific cut-off for the GRE.

Although the GRE scores and GPA are important to the admissions review process, we do not have a minimum required score. GRE or GMAT scores are evaluated in a manner which complies with House Bill 1641. Each student is reviewed using a variety of criteria including academic performance, leadership potential, work or life experience, personal statement, recommendation letters, extracurricular activities, and information gathered at the Interview Conference.

The Graduate School minimum GPA is 3.0 but we like to see at least a 3.25 in courses relevant to the area in which you apply. As for GRE scores, we don’t set absolute numbers because each year’s applicants are judged against all others in that year only. Given that our programs are very competitive and highly selective, you will want to be sure that you do the best you can on all areas of the Graduate Record Examination.

While we do require GRE and TOEFL scores for admissions consideration, we do not establish a minimum profile in terms of GRE, TOEFL, or GPA. Your application is examined as a whole.

The weight given to standardized admissions exams varies from program to program and discipline to discipline. If your exam score is not reflective of your academic accomplishments and capabilities, it is often a good idea to ask one of your faculty recommenders to address it in the letter. This can be particularly effective if you have taken advanced courses or done independent study with that professor.

GRE scores are not required, but we ask that you include them if you have taken the GRE within the past 3 years.

The University requires a minimum GPA of 3.0 for the last two years of undergraduate study and a combined verbal + quantitative score of 1000 on the GRE. Occasionally we do admit students that do not meet these minimum requirements, but where there may have been extenuating circumstances and where there is clear evidence that the student will be capable of succeeding in graduate study.

There are no minimum requirements or cut-offs. The admissions committee takes all parts of your application into consideration and reviews it as a whole. On average, entering students have GRE scores in the 80th percentile and GPAs of 3.5 or higher.

Admission to the Ph.D. progarm is based on an overall evaluation of applicants' scores, grades, recommendation letters, as well as potential for scholarship in our program. A general guideline for admission is a minimum score of 1200 on the combined verbal and quantitive GREs.

The LBJ School takes a holistic approach to the application review process. Each applicant’s file is reviewed individually with equal consideration given to the quantitative and qualitative aspects of the student’s records. The process is competitive and applicants are encouraged to give special consideration to the preparation of their essay, which gives the admissions committee personal insight into their unique qualifications.

The department considers all components of the application. There are therefore no specific GRE or GPA minimums.

There is no minimum score. We look very closely at test scores because we have found that to some degree, successful completion of the doctoral coursework and thesis research is highly predicted by strong scores on these tests. However, this is only one of several criteria that determines acceptance into the doctoral program. We also look closely at transcripts to ensure that applicants??? skills meet the demands of the program.

The University of California requires that applicants have an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or better before being considered for graduate standing. While there is no minimum GRE score that is required, the most competitive applicants typically have verbal, quantitative, and analytical scores is the range of 500 - 700.

We do require that Fellows candidates (applicants under 30 years old) come to campus for a personal interview. We recommend that all applicants come to visit the program to observe classes and meet current students, if at all possible. Overall GPA is the GPA derived from all courses taken, regardless of institution. Many graduate programs use this GPA. FIU does not maintain this GPA. Admission GPA is a special GPA available on the Student Academic Support System(SASS) audit for students not fully admitted to the college. This GPA must be a 2.25 for admission to the college of Business Administration. Third- and fourth-year business courses are not used to calculate this GPA. Future employers may request Major GPA.

A lower score in one area can be offset by a higher score in a different area, but the deviation should not be too large. International applicants often have a lower verbal score; this can be offset by a good to high TOEFL score.

With respect to GPAs, the University requires a minimum GPA of 2.5, however, a 3.0 or greater is strongly preferred. The GPA is calculated using the last 90 quarter units (or last 60 semester units) of study. GPA competitiveness vary with the undergraduate degree, and we therefore consider and make adjustments for students coming from programs/schools without grade inflation or with a reputation for rigor.

There is not a minimum GPA requirement. Our average for the class of 2008 was 3.4. Students who are admitted with a GPA below a 3.0 are admitted on a probationary status and must maintain a 3.0 or higher in the fall semester in order to continue with the program.
