Sometimes the installer for Score Writer and Overture fails to install the Aloisen music font. Please download the AloisNew font on the Downloads page and install it using the Fonts Control panel. Be sure to reboot after installing the font.

In older versions of Score Writer or Overture, choose File | Export, and export your file as an .MID (Standard MIDI) file. You can then open this file in other programs. In other programs, choose File | Save As and save the file as an .MID (MIDI Format 1) file. You can then open this file in Score Writer or Overture from the File | Open menu. (back to top)

Go to Options | Instruments | Define | Import, double click on the keyboard manufacturer's name and choose your instrument. Click on Close, and in the Assign Instruments screen click and drag to select items 1-16 on the left. On the right, click on your instrument. Now under Windows | Tracks, make sure that the device says the name of the instrument, and choose a Channel, Bank, and Patch.

If you want to save your scores to audio CD you must record the playback using an audio recording program. This isn't as simple as it sounds because Overture and Score Writer use MIDI data to playback and audio CDs required digital audio. On Windows, most sound cards support full duplex which allows you to record its own MIDI playback and save it to a .wav file. For more details see your sound card's documentation.

If OpenSkies crashes when you first bring it up, you probably need to update your OpenGL drivers. The most recent release version of these drivers is in the downloads directory (be warned, it's 50+ MB). Most problems can be fixed by simply installing these drivers first, then reinstalling OpenSkies.

In the Services window, select the Check Point SecuRemote Watchdog service on the right pane of the window. In the Services window, select the Check Point SecuRemote Watchdog service in the right pane of the window. In the General tab, click on the Start button. This will automatically start the Watchdog service as well as the Check Point SecuRemote Service.

When My Key Ring! is installed a shortcut is placed into the Windows Startup folder. This is a standard approach. If you remove the link from the Startup folder, My Key Ring! will not load on startup of Windows.

If you have Score Writer version 2.0 or higher, click on the track you want extract, and choose the File | Extract Parts... menu command. The current track is selected and if you want other tracks to be extracted, simply click on the selector beside each track name. Score Writer version 1.0 does not have an an option to extract parts. In order to achieve the same results you will need to delete all the unwanted tracks/staves, choose File | Save As, and type in a new name.

Overture is a pay-per-click search engine that provides the top listings for many important search engines such as Yahoo!, MSN, and HotBot, as well as providing listings for many other popular search engines. Pay-per-click means just that – you pay an amount that you choose each time someone clicks on your link. The more you bid on a keyword, the higher your listing appears on the page.

Raster3D has been ported to MacOSX by the GNU-Darwin project. It is part of the base installation, so if you are a One Step installer user, then you already have it. For further information on GNU-Darwin see http://www.gnu-darwin.org

HER version 3 is a "trialware" or "shareware" program, meaning that you can download it for free and try it out for 30 days at no charge. To use the program beyond 30 days requires "program registration". To register the program, your PC needs an Internet connection (but an alternative non-connected registration method is also available).

If you remove SoniqSync from the Startup file on your PC, it will only be available when you manually start the SoniqSync program. SoniqSync must be up and running in order to automatically run a scheduled copy (download). If you are not planning on using the scheduled copy feature, you can remove SoniqSync from the Startup file by:

In the Change Windows Password dialog box, type your current Windows password in the Old Password box. Leave the New Password and Confirm New Password boxes blank > OK > OK. Click the User Profiles tab and verify that the "All users of this PC use the same preferences and desktop settings" option is selected > Close

When you choose File | Open in Score Writer, the Open window defaults to your My Documents folder. You will need to click the arrow to the right of Look In and navigate to your Score Writer folder. This is a common issue with Tablet PCs or PCs running Windows XP Tablet Edition. The current version of Co:Writer SE will crash when launched AFTER SOLO is already open. We are looking into a fix for this in future versions.

When zsh starts up, there are four files you can change which it will run under various circumstances: .zshenv, .zprofile, .zshrc and .zlogin. They are usually in your home directory, but the variable $ZDOTDIR may be set to alter that. Here are a few simple hints about how to use them.

Your computer becomes a "zombie" when a virus or Trojan software installs that then allows an unauthorized person remote access to your PC via the Internet and then issue commands. A collection of compromised PCs is called a "botnet" (short for a robot network). A botnet can have tens or even hundreds of thousands of zombie computers.

You can find the firmware version for your writer by accessing the writer's properties through the Control Panel. Your computer may have a slightly different procedure, depending on the MACINTOSH or Personal Computer you have. This is a generic procedure, to be used as a guide to finding firmware versions. Media is available from other sources in an 80 mm. diameter circular format and a variety of custom shapes. An Internet search will provide numerous sources.

The Code Red Worm tries to attack devices using tcp port 80. The HP ProCurve Switch 212m and 224m use port 80 for establishing http sessions. If your HP ProCurve Switch 212m or 224m is running software version D.05.13 or earlier, when the Code Red Worm attempts to attack the switch on tcp port 80, the switch will crash with a message similar to: The switch will then reboot automatically. Network operations will be momentarily interrupted during the reboot.

You can create a batch file with the following contents: net use e: \\$hostname\$sharename $password /u:$sharename /persistent:no Alternatively, you can use "Map Network drive" under "Tools" menu in File Explorer , and check "Reconnect at login" option. When you are using Windows Vista, "Map Network drive" GUI menu is at right-click on Computer in Start menu. You can also map sub-folder to drive.

It has been noted that starting your servers right at the end of your autoexec.nos file i.e. your 'start' lines, can lead to a more stable system. You should also make sure you are running a fairly recent version of TNOS. At the time of writing this I am running 2.0pl2 for Linux, and it seems to be proving very stable. If you must run an earlier version than 2.0 for Linux, then make sure you do not have the status line turned on, also the tcpgate facility is buggy in earlier versions.

The platform-independent way to use the debug memory manager is to set the environment variable MATLAB_MEM_MGR to contain the string "debug". On Windows: C:\> set MATLAB_MEM_MGR=debug C:\> matlab On Unix with csh or tcsh: % setenv MATLAB_MEM_MGR debug % matlab On Unix with sh or bash: $ MATLAB_MEM_MGR=debug matlab The debug memory manager cannot catch your code the instant it writes out of bounds (tools like Purify can do this but the performance hit they induce is quite painful).

Before you do anything with SwingWT in your code, do: swingwtx.swing.SwingWTUtils.setShowSwingWTInfoOnStartup(false) to turn it off.

We started working on a handheld version of Wenlin in early 2003. Progress in this direction has been slow. It's still too soon to predict when a handheld Wenlin will be ready for field testing or publication.

this time it is not available for the PC version although HyperStudio says they are hoping it will be soon. We will let you know when it is available.
