However, there may be very rare occasions when we may wish to talk to another trusted adult about what happens between us - if we felt that your life was at risk, for example. Many people ask me this at their initial session. As an experienced therapist, my answer would be 'everyone can benefit from therapy'. I have yet to meet someone who does not have 'issues' that complicate their life when they need not do so. You do not have to be 'mad' or 'ill' to improve the quality of life through therapy. By being more self-aware, people establish more fulfilling relationships, make better-informed decisions and generally are able to live life more fully and positively.

If you live within a 20 mile radius of King's Lynn and want face-to-face counselling and have a condition that prevents you from travelling to us, we may be willing (at our discretion) to travel to you for appointments. However, you would be expected to pay for travelling time and travelling expenses. Phone counselling would be a cheaper option.

Both disciplines work with emotional issues, and both can provide useful skill sets. However, the philosophical stance of the two are quite different. Broadly speaking, a Relationship Therapist is seen as an expert who will diagnose what is wrong with the relationship and design a treatment plan to resolve the problem or pathology. The whole family lives with and is affected by MS. It may change family routines for work, play- almost everything-and everyone is affected. Counselling may help the whole family to adjust. Check your local MS Society to see what family-orientated programmes they offer and ask if your MS Society Field Worker can help with counselling.

Although much of our counselling is done on an individual basis, we also provide couples counselling as long as one member of the couple is a University of Calgary Student. We also provide family suites for visiting families at a nominal cost.

Family therapy will begin as soon as your child has their own issues under control. It doesn't do a lot of good to engage in family therapy if the child is still out of control and unable to handle their emotions. Once they have their feelings under control, family therapy generally consists of two sessions per month.

I do not provide couples or family therapy as the primary focus of work. However, I do welcome the involvement of families or partners in conjunction with an individual's work. I will schedule family or couples sessions if this will foster the growth of an individual client.

The success of your home therapy depends on everyone involved, especially you and your family. Before going home from the hospital or before beginning the therapy at home or in the nursing facility, a member of the Reeves-Sain Pharmacy will prepare you for your therapy. In many cases, Reeves-Sain Infusion will be providing your care in conjunction with a Home Health Agency. In these cases, a representative from the Home Health Agency will visit you prior to beginning your therapy.

I practice counselling psychology, which means that my clients are basically healthy individuals who have various challenges in living. Gene therapy is a new approach to stem cell transplantation. Instead of finding a donor who is enough of a match to your child to donate bone marrow stem cells or umbilical cord blood stem cells, the transplant is done using the child's own cells.
