There are two different methods of copying discs using duplicators. Disc to Disc and Hard Drive to disc. Disc to disc duplication involves reading your master disc and copying simultaneously. Hard Drive to disc duplication involves loading your master onto the Hard Drive and then copying to the blank discs. When duplicating DVD’s using a duplicator tower it is strongly recommended that you use the HARD DRIVE to disc method.

Duplication of our purchased or preview videos and DVDs is strictly prohibited unless you receive direct permission from the Media Education Foundation. However, we do generally permit school librarians to make a circulation copy of a VHS to preserve the original purchased copy. Our DVDs are copy-protected.

Yes! It's your DVD and you can make as many copies of it as you like. If you prefer, we can make copies for you. We use high quality Verbatim® DataLife DVD-r disks and thermally label them with a title and subtitle of your choice. Although thermal printing is expensive we feel it is the best method for labeling an archival DVD. Other methods of labelling DVDs have serious drawbacks. The glue on sticker labels will eat through the thin protective coating on a DVD and eventually destroy it.

We no longer sell DVD copying software--here's why... Some recent USA court decisions have backed up the arguments made by the Recording Industry Association of America, and various other trade associations, that all movie and music disc copying is unlawful. Whether this line of reasoning will stand for many years to come remains to be seen.

Depending on what your DVD is for, it will be either manufactured or duplicated. A project that requires a small run of DVDs, such as a showreel, may be duplicated on DVD Recordables. A project that requires a large run of DVDs - or some other benefit of manufacturing - would be glass mastered and pressed at a replication plant. The first step is composition; some pieces, I write myself, some I arrange, and some (the best) are by other people. The next step is to get a rendition of the piece; if somebody else has performed the piece and saved the result as a MIDI file, I can use that as is, but usually I need to practice it myself and then do a performance.

Answer: If the DVD's have a copyright owner other than yourself, the copying or distribution by any means is strictly prohibited. If you are the copyright owner, or the DVD has no copyright you may be able to make additional copies. This is a complicated technical issue, it depends on your hardware, software and media. It is best to order a few additional copies from us, at the time you place the order.

No. To make multiple copies of a DVD, you will clone the source DVD to the hard drive, then clone from the hard drive to a DVD R/RW disc. You can then create multiple copies of the original DVD, or the cloned DVD directly from the hard drive. Although the DVD-Cloner encoding system is very efficient, even some D9 discs may be too large to fit on a single disc. In this case, you will need to use either the "Movie Only" or the "Split Discs" option.

The only way that your DVD will be the best it can possibly be is by us soliciting your feedback throughout the production process. Once we have your initial instructions, we will put together a proof of your project. Each chapter of the DVD is finished as a separate file and will be placed on our special web site (FTP) for you to view.

The LandView 6 and MARPLOT® software were created by agencies of the U.S. Government and are in the public domain. They can be copied, used and distributed freely without the requirement for royalty payments or further permissions. To accomodate the file size of the LandView 6 data sets and maps, dual layer, single sided DVDs (DVD-9 format) were used to create the East and West discs. Each disc has the capacity to store up to 8 gigabytes of files.
