It is up to the tournament director to determine the awards that are given at an event. Currently at the Houston Tournament, there are three awards given (champion, design, and sportsmanship awards) along with medallions for each participant. Medallions for your tournament can be ordered directly from the supplier, George Alan Awards @ 713-868-2072. Trophies are often made from the mission pieces by the tournament.

There is no limit to the number of teams a school can enter. However, each team should consist of two people.

Judges are instructed to take into account the plan evaluation criteria, the presentation and Q & A sessions and their personal assessment of the potential of the venture. Following the last presentation, judges review each entry and come to a consensus opinion on which team will move forward. This decision is made separately from any other judging track and judges do not know other teams that will be moving forward.

Hopkins Dance does NOT audition for competition teams. Students will be observed during class. Please note on your registration that you would like to be evaluated for placement. All students who complete the competition will receive a certificate from the U.S. Department of Education commending them for their achievement.
