In the course description, we tell you that you need to bring a current M1 licence, the proper riding gear, and a good attitude. You'll be riding on a motorcycle from our fleet, so you don't need to have one of your own. At the end of the course, we administer the Ontario Ministry of Transportation M2 licence upgrade test; if you don't have an "M1" licence, you're not eligible to receive the documentation (you can still take the course without an M1, but you won't get an upgrade).

Anyone under 18 must take the BRC to be able to take the permit test. However, we recommend that anyone who feels they need a refresher on how to work a motorcycle will benefit. The class is geared towards people who have little to no experience with riding, but even long time veterans of the sport will benefit from taking the class.

Due to MSF regulations, you must use the motorcycles provided to you by Training Wheels. However, upon successfully completing the course, you can partake in a Skills Practice Session on your own motorcycle.

We offer a wide variety of bikes from standard styles, cruisers, dual purpose, and some limited sport styles. All the bikes are between 125cc and 250cc This makes them compact, lightweight, and as easy as possible to learn on. We have a variety of sizes and styles at all of our locations. Our scooter fleet is also varied from 50cc to 80cc. This makes them ideal for training because they are extremely lightweight and easy to maneuver. The mix of machines varies each weekend.

Taking a video course without a VCR is very difficult. The GSCC Libraries have a limited number of viewing stations. They are available on a first come, first served basis during library hours.

One of the incredible things about this ride is how MSA can put together an event that can accommodate everyone from a 2 to an 11 on a scale of 1 to 10 in riding ability. Some of the older guys ride a low impact route and still have a great time. Mid-level riders will get all they want out of the normal course and the masochistic are happily served by Malcolm on his many hero routes throughout the week.

Make sure your motorcycle is in good running order; it is inspected, registered, and insured. Your motorcycle will be given a pre-ride inspection by the instructor. If there are noticeable defects (worn tires, etc) you will not be allowed to ride and you will forfeit your tuition. Similarly, if your motorcycle breaks down during the course and you cannot continue, you will be dismissed (you must complete ALL exercises) and tuition will be forfeited.

You will need a camera, either digital or film, that you can manually adjust. You do NOT need 'state-of-the-art' expensive cameras. A second hand manual camera will do just fine for learning on and can be obtained quite reasonably. On some auto-everything cameras there is often a 'creative' mode button, which usually means you take control. Perfect! More information can be found on the syllabus page.

Absolutely not. We specialise in Horseback Riding Tours and often take people who have never been on a horse before. Our safety record is excellent and we have highly trained wranglers to guide you through this experience. If you are an expert rider then you will be able to gallop the trails and will really enjoy the wide open spaces and variety of rides on the 4,000 acres that surround our resort.

If you failed the riding portion of the Basic Rider Course, you can choose to retake the skill evaluation during the Intermediate Rider Course.

Some of the students who say they got the most out of the class are experienced riders. This course teaches you the proper techniques for operating a motorcycle. Some experience riders may have developed improper habits and this course will help you correct them.

Courses run from April until October. The course will have one four hour classroom session that happens during the week, and then two 5 hour riding sessions on the weekend. The skills test is included in the riding sessions.

If you were with the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corp, U.S. Air Force or their Reserve Components and didn’t complete six or eight weeks of U.S. Army Basic Training or USMC Boot camp, you will need to attend a Warrior Training Course. Your recruiter can explain this in detail.

Yes. During the basic Open Water Certification Course, you will complete an untimed swim test: either 200 yards using any style or 300 yards wearing mask, snorkel and fins. You will also show that you can float on the surface for 10 minutes.

There is no prerequisite as far as yoga practice is concerned, you can even take the course as a beginner in yoga. We do recommend that you visit one of our centers to take classes in order to gain some idea of our practice. Openness to new ideas and willingness to learn are important.

You should be at least an intermediate skier or rider. Conditions can vary greatly, but as long as you can at least traverse or sideslip and perform a downhill kick-turn, you should be able to get down anything. There is usually at least one easy way down. Remember, if it wasn't easy going up, it probably won't be easy going down. Don't let your friends talk you into anything that you don't feel comfortable with.

YES. You must possess a validated motorcycle permit for the Basic Rider Course. To get a validated permit you must pass the written and eye test at the motor vehicle commission. Your permit must be valid for the duration of the BRC course. A motorcycle endorsement on your driver’s license is required for all other classes.
