The vast majority of your existing programs should work perfectly after you transfer their files and Registry settings to your new computer with Move Me. In some cases, however, a program may need to be re-installed on the new computer. When a change in operating system is involved, one or more drivers required by the new operating system may not be transferred from the old computer.

Some Microsoft programs will import fully to a new OS, however many other programs written for Windows will not. If you have the original discs for your other programs, you can re-install them on your machine once you have installed the new OS. Installation instructions are beyond the scope of support for these products. If you do not have the original discs for your other software, we suggest you do not attempt installing this software on your machine.

DriveCopy was intended for users who are upgrading to a new hard drive or making a backup of a hard drive in their existing system. Because of operating system conflicts that can result from different hardware configurations, DriveCopy was not intended to copy a hard drive that will be used in another system with different hardware configurations.

After performing the copy, the target drive may not boot due to different hardware or software configurations. Problems resulting from this will not be supported.

First, install the HIFIS application on the new computer. Then, create a Backup file of the HIFIS database on the old computer and save it in the Temp directory of the new computer. Finally, use the Restore feature from the Database Maintenance.
