Passing a catheter through the valve is not recommended because the catheter can cause damage to the valve that may or may not be immediately apparent. With prosthetic devices the catheter will also induce regurgitation and alter hemodynamics. Servers at St. Jude must have at least completed the fourth grade and be willing to serve at Mass in a reverent and prayerful manner. Names of interested boys and girls should be passed along to Fr. Kosem who will then inform them when the next mandatory training session will take place. After completing their training, servers will be eligible to serve at both daily and weekend Masses.

St Jude's Players was formed in 1957 and was affiliated to St Jude's Church with the vicar as President. The first play produced was called "Golden Rain". The first Pantomime, in 1975 (The Queen of Hearts) was an immediate success and boosted membership. The annual Pantomime has now become part of the village tradition with a different one being produced each year in the Social Hall.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ has a clear bias toward the poor. Jesus said, "Blessed are the poor" (Matthew 5:3), and devoted much of his earthly ministry toward their care. He went so far as to proclaim that those who minister to the poor are in effect ministering to him (Matthew 25:40). Christians, we have a sacred responsibility to care for the poor. By hosting TC4 on the grounds at St Jude, we will be providing a safe place for the homeless to live.

St. Jude Heroes is a program that offers runners and walkers an opportunity to become part of a fundraising team for the children of St. Jude. Each participant will receive materials to help with their fundraising efforts in addition to an online customizable training program. In return, the runners/walkers will be encouraged to raise funds for St. Jude by getting pledges for the race.

No, the marathon is a cooperative effort of St. Jude and Memphis Runners Track Club (MRTC). All proceeds go directly to St. Jude.

Suction relief valves are mounted as close to the suction mouth of the suction line as is practical. It can be opened manually to allow extra water into the slurry, or automatically if the suction or discharge lines begin to plug, as measured by vacuum and pressure sensors. The suction relief can also be connected to a Production Meter System to help keep at a consistent level of production.

Perhaps the most critical component in the engine -- the reed valve, should be made from high-carbon spring steel (sometimes known as C1095). You can use regular steel shim but it's nowhere near as strong as proper spring steel so valve life will be dramatically less. Don't even think about using aluminum to make a reed-valve -- not only won't it be strong enough to resist the pressures created by combustion but it will melt away very quickly.

When a relative dies, please call the Rectory and let us know. At that time, we will work with you in any way that we can. While the funeral home will help you with many of the arrangements, please contact the Rectory who will be happy to discuss the preferences and options for the funeral liturgy. If desired, our bereavement group will be happy to provide a meal following the funeral.

Our entire property has beautiful grounds that are taken care of by volunteers. Volunteer gardeners plant, maintain, and beautify our property on their own schedule at their own convenience.
