Rarely in nightmare difficulty will you find and enemy that is immune to elemental damages 100% (such as cold, lightning, or fire). But, in hell it is much different. In nightmare you can probably still do damage to an immune to elemental assailant because he isn't totally immune. In hell though, you will need to find another way to attack.
