No respectable loggers will display any messages with the keyword "nolog". Since many logs are publically accessible to any Web user, you may wish to use this if you are mocking your employer. Long, long ago, embedding the string JJ-232 had the same effect, but it is no longer nearly as widely supported as /nolog. Bear in mind that nolog is not a real guarantee that your information will stay private.

Actually you can but we do not recommend it. Our clear UV GUARD, UV GUARD II Exterior Wood Finish and UV GUARD Deck & Fence Coating, which are the basis of all of the colored versions of these products, have specific chemical UV blockers and stabilizers, but all logs will age/darken under any non-film forming stain and this will be more noticeable under a clear/transparent stain. Additionally the pigments act as additional sun blockers/reflectors giving a longer life to the finish.

We use dry standing dead trees that are naturally seasoned before they are harvested, primarily lodgepole pine and spruce. These logs not only make excellent building material but also provide an environmentally friendly alternative to log home companies that harvest living trees.

Absolutely. Trend logs are important to work out detailed problems that require a fine level of time granularity before you can make final decisions.

Lodgepole Pine and Englemann Spruce are the most common. Our logs are dry seasoned logs, which means they have been air-dried to a moisture content of less than 19%, before they are crafted into your log home. This results in very tight fitting log joints that stay that way. Our logs are handpeeled with a draw knife to retain the protective insulating layer just under the bark, and to preserve the natural color, taper and character of each log.

Our logs are air dried in our construction yard to average moisture content of between 15% and 20% before we begin building. There are many log homeowners but only a few can claim to live in a real handcrafted work of art. One of our experienced log smiths using the highest quality full log uniquely creates each of our homes. Unlike machined log homes, you would never find a butt joint in our log walls. Each log is allowed to retain its character.

Chimney cleaning logs are not a substitute for a professional chimney sweeping, but they do do some good. It's a bit like running weakly soapy water over your hands but not scrubbing.

There are many types of synthetic (manufactured) logs on the market. You need to carefully read the instructions on the packaging. Those instructions should clearly mention whether the logs are approved for use in a fireplace (freestanding stove, zero clearance fireplace, or fireplace insert). If there is no restriction mentioned on the packaging, try to contact the log manufacturer. Some types of synthetic logs are forbidden for use in freestanding stoves.

All legitimate list managers keep logs. If you do not, you should think about hiring an outside agency to manage your lists. Find someone who can handle this type of problem.

For new construction, sand, media blast, pressure wash or chemically clean all areas that have been soiled by the construction process. If you wish, you can insulate the walls of a box cooker with various substances. Fiberglass or Styrofoam is usually not recommended since they give off ill-smelling gases as they heat up. Natural substances such as cotton, wool, feathers, or even crumpled newspapers work well. Many people, however, leave the walls empty of any stuffing, preferring instead to place a piece of foiled cardboard as a baffle inside the wall airspace.
