Commuter plans are only available if you live off campus or in one of the on campus apartment complexes (Antero, Blanca, JLK, El Diente, or Edith Gaylord). Yes. You have several options. You can purchase meals in packages of ten for a discounted rate, pay cash, or purchase Puma Points. Points work the same as a debit card; you deposit money with Dining Services to your account. This amount is encoded on your SJC ID card for your use in the HUB or Cafeteria.

Yes, there are special meal plans for our students who either commute or live in Founders’ Woods apartments.

All commuter students are required to have the Flex Plan each semester. A beginning balance of $75 is required each semester.

Commuters attend the full retreat, including all meals, but you are not provided with overnight accommodations. You will need to arrange for your own accommodations. A list of accommodations near Spirit Rock can be found on our website at www.spiritrock.org. The cost to attend as a commuter is on a sliding scale from $65-$45 per retreat night. Unless you have a teacher's permissions, you need to have completed a minimum of a one-week silent retreat as a resident before you can be a commuter.

The Commuter Benefits Program is a qualified transportation benefit program under Internal Revenue Code (IRC) § 132 which allows employees to pay for certain employment-related transportation expenses on a pre-tax basis.

Through payroll deduction, employees contribute to an account that saves 25% to 40% on the expense of parking near their place of employment, and travel to and from work. During the year, participants may access this account for transit and parking expenses. Payments from the account are tax-free to employees. Monthly expense limits for 2007 are $215 per month for parking and $110 per month for transit passes and commuter highway vehicles.

The Commuter Check program is a â??fringe benefitâ?? available to employees allowing them to save taxes on their qualified commuting expenses. Commuter Checks are vouchers accepted by transit operators for purchase of transit passes, tokens and tickets. Commuter Checkâ??s ParkChek is a voucher accepted by parking operators to pay for commute-related parking expenses.

A commuter vehicle is a non-resident vehicle parked in a residential area in which it is not registered with TXDOT.

Unfortunately, we have eliminated the option to commute to the institute. We find that commuting creates an unacceptable risk for the safety of our students, creates disruption within the lab setting, forces students to miss valuable instruction time, and that the minimal discount we were able to offer for housing in the past ($100 per week) did not attract many students to the option.

The commuter assistants are a group of undergraduate students employed by the Office of Commuter Services and Educational Services for Students. These students develop academic programs; fun activities for commuter students, send out weekly e-mails, build a link for commuting students by informing them on campus issues; campus life, and maintain the Rock Bottom Lounge, where their office is located.

The Commuter Club is a student organization funded by Undergraduate Student Groups (USG). The officers of the Commuter Club host a variety of events in the Rock Bottom Lounge, where not only commuters, but also residents are more than welcome to attend. These events include pizza parties, outdoor picnics, breakfasts & ice cream socials. The Commuter Club is open to commuters and residents to join, so that both groups can recognize that commuters know how to party, also!

Commuter housing is "hostel-style" and designed for students that want to stay on campus one or two days a week because travel time would prohibit their academic ability. Commuters are assigned to a designated shared room (up to 4 people) in North Hall.

Participation in the Commuter Benefits Program will have no impact on the gross amount of earnings used to calculate retirement, life insurance, income continuation insurance, sick leave conversion credits, unemployment or Worker's Compensation. The plan will reduce salary used for calculating social security benefits at retirement.

Commuter students are encouraged to participate in all student activities. There are a number of locations and services popular among our commuter students. Study areas are available in the Science Building and Library. Snack Bar counter service is available in the College Center for the community during scheduled operating hours in the morning, afternoon, and early evening.

Federal law allows employees to set aside up to $105/month before taxes are applied to use for mass transit and vanpool commuting, and up to $200/month before taxes are applied for commuter parking. This can translate into big savings depending upon the amount you exclude from taxes and your tax bracket.

The Thruway's $80 annual permit discount plan is available and has not increased in price. New commuter discount plans for each of the New York and Buffalo fixed toll barriers and bridges (New Rochelle, Yonkers, Tappan Zee Bridge, Harriman, and both Grand Island Bridges) are also available. Although there are many lounges around campus that any student is welcomed to enjoy between classes there is only one Commuter Lounge with lockers, microwave, refrigerator, computers, large screen TV & cable and a staff to help commuters navigate campus.

You may return your ticket to The Iarnród Éireann Travel Centre in Abbey Street, Dublin for a refund. Refunds will be calculated from the day we receive the ticket for cancellation. An administration fee may be charged. If you are unable to do this immediately, because of illness, a medical certificate must be included with your application to cover the period from the date you became ill.

Commuter students have the option of providing their own lunch, or purchasing the lunch plan for an additional cost. Lunches will be provided in the Bursley Cafeteria where students will be treated to an all-you-can-eat buffet that includes multiple menu selections as well as a salad bar and an ice cream bar. Students that do not purchase the Lunch Option can either bring their own lunch or buy a lunch in the Pierpont Commons.

The second floor of Andrews Hall has a TV/Commuter Lounge and a kitchen area designed for commuter students.

Yes, train passes are accepted aboard every commuter train within the designated zone. They may not, however, be used to take the bus or metro in the STM system (island of Montreal). No, as of January 2003, you need a Zone 1 TRAM. However, STM bus and metro transfers are accepted on board commuter trains in Zone 1.

Unlike the metro, the commuter trains (trains de banlieue) are run by the Agence métropolitaine de transport (AMT). Here are the commuter train lines that are accessible from the metro: Each train station is assigned to a zone by the AMT. You must have a fare for the farthest zone through which you travel; i.e. if you are travelling to Montreal, the zone of your departure station; if you are travelling away from Montreal, the zone of your destination station.
