There are several methods to clean gold filled jewelry. Now, I use an Ionic Cleaner but before I got that, I used the small jars of jewelry cleaner from the drug store. You can also use Dawn dishwashing liquid & an old toothbrush to scrub it, then rinse it well & pat it dry. Although 14kt Gold Filled jewelry will not tarnish, it will get dirty. The oils from your skin transfer to the metal and need to be washed off periodically.

YES, all sterling silver & gold-filled jewelry tarnishes when exposed to acidic skin or air. An ultrasonice cleaner or a non-abrasive polishing cloth (such as Sunshine) will remove tarnish. (Do not put beaded strands in ultrasonic cleaner.)
