Save your PowerPoint presentation to an image format (.jpg, .gif, or .png). PowerPoint will automatically create a folder including individual image files for all the slides and automatically name them slideX.jpg (X being the slide number). Once the presentation has been exported, zip the folder containing all the resulting images. Remember where the zip file is located so it can be uploaded to WebMC after login. Alternatively you can view the 'Getting Started' presentation for a tutorial.

ZIP is a compressed file format. Compression effectively reduces the size of a file by using a special encoding. The tradeoff is that opening a compressed file requires the computer to first decompress the information. Modern computers can decompress and compress "average" sized files with hardly any noticeable delay. For this reason, almost all sizeable files at the Planet (and at other sites) are compressed.

The session is informal in tone, and each graduate student should prepare a ten minute presentation that focuses on the areas of his or her work on which he or she would like to receive feedback. The senior scholar will have read your paper in advance, and will be able to make appropriate comments. You may distribute handouts if they are appropriate, but AV equipment will not be feasible given the room set-up.

Click Select Picture, find the folder that contains the background you want, double-click the file name, and then click OK. To apply the change to the current slide, click Apply. To apply the change to all slides, click Apply to All.

This is trickier than one might think. Computer screens usually have a higher resolution - more detail and more colors - than standard definition television. The key is to remember that computer screens and videotape are different media. Keep in mind that video has a much lower resolution and less color than computer screens, so what may look fine on a computer can easily become completely unreadable on a TV set.

Yes, you can. Openworld Presenter can import all slides from PPT file and save any of them into JPEG, PNG or GIF format of your choice. Please take into account that neither animation nor sound will be imported. Only static slides (text and graphics) can be imported. If you wish to import sound then please export it first using Powerpoint options and then add it as soundtrack to your Openworld Presenter project. Use "Load Multiple Video" dialog for that.

Anyone on the idealab network can connect directly to one of the IP VideoConferencing stations to webcast their PC desktop to unlimited remote users. This allows you to broadcast PowerPoint presentations, software demos or anything else on your PC screen from anywhere within Idealab. It requires installing a simple application which can be downloaded here. Once installed, contact Media Services for instructions on initiating the broadcast.

In our standard package, clients submit a completed PowerPoint presentation that is ready to go live with. We then take this final file and convert it into a graphic format that fits within the webcast interface. The best way to download any ZIP in an HTTP link as ours are is to right-click on the download link, and select "Save Target As" and then save the file to your hard drive, rather than select "Open from it's current location", using Internet Explorer. However, with some versions of Internet Explorer, sometimes this seems to result in a partially downloaded file, and further attempts to download always fail.
