HSK was first offered in 1990. Since then, many test centers have been established in China and in nearly twenty foreign countries, and HSK has been held regularly in each test center every year.

FIRST was started in 1992 with 28 teams who competed in a New Hampshire high school gym. They played the "Maize Craze" game. Today, there are about 900 teams worldwide with about 20,000 students participating nationwide.

HSK Basic lasts altogether 135 minutes. Elementary-Intermediate lasts 145 minutes, and Advanced is 155 minutes.

The HMNH Travel Program began as the MCZ Travel Program (Museum of Comparative Zoology) in 1974 with a full-day whale symposium to introduce the first trip, “Baja Whale-Watching,” which took place in January 1975. The purpose was to draw attention to the endangered status of the California gray whale, which has since made a great comeback. Since then, the program has expanded dramatically through word-of-mouth and each year more departures were added to more exotic destinations.

The original Ontario group was formed in 1954 and later expanded into a national organization that was federally incorporated in 1963.

Cross training has been done far many year as a normal part of a competitors workout training program. It has been part of competitive sport for the last 14 years with competitions like ‘Ultra-fit’ and ‘Superteams’. The Kessler School began in 1999, however, the Day School of Kessler Park United Methodist Church begain in 1964 and has provided pre-school through kindergarten learning opportunities to the community for more than 40 years. The Day School, which held an excellent reputation in the community, officially merged with The Kessler School in Spring 2001.

The Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund was established following voter approval of a constitutional amendment in November 1988. The first lottery proceeds were deposited in the fund in May 1990. In November 1990, voters approved dedication of 40 percent of net lottery proceeds to the Trust Fund through December 2000. This dedication was continued through December 2024 after passage of a constitutional amendment in November 1998.

It was originally conceived as the Tulsa Little Symphony Orchestra, a chamber ensemble, and in the early 80's became known as Oklahoma Sinfonia, presenting a pops and light classics series at the Brady Theater. In 1996, the Sinfonia became orchestra-in-residence at Tulsa Community College and made the VanTrease Performing Arts Center for Education its home.
