We use two different types of wool sources for various categories of wool carpets. The basic (standard) grade of wool carpets is made of local wool from Kashmir that is used to produce carpets with thick and heavy pile. These carpets usually have bold motifs and are often used in corridors and passageways. The other type of wool that we use for a majority of our carpets comes from New Zealand - Merino sheep wool, often considered to be amongst the finest in the world.

We clean rugs using mild detergent and cold water. All rugs get thoroughly dusted and vacuumed before getting a wash. Recommended frequency varies greatly. Each home has different usage patterns. Also color and type of carpet as a lot of impact in determining how often to clean. That said "Rule of Thumb" would be daily use areas at least once a year. Light colored carpets with heavy use can require 2-4 times per year. Clean ahead of a traffic lane becoming very visible to ensure soil does not discolor the halls, steps & family rooms.

Let's compare traditional hot water extraction machines to vapor steam cleaning. The "steam cleaners", you may be familiar with or seen used by a rug cleaning service are all based on water extraction. The ones that are truck mounted, can cost up to $30,000! Home based systems are only a few hundred dollars and their performance is more often than not congruent with their price. Low price equals low performance.
