The release point for the Cat Safety collar is approximately 5 lbs. of pressure, which is appropriate given the range of weights in cats. Although it can be frustrating to cope with lost cat collars, it is very much preferable to the alternative (not releasing when needed). Exhaust brakes are available on some Freightliner chassis. An exhaust brake is a vehicle-retarding device that comes in handy in hilly terrain. It helps slow the vehicle, resulting in longer life of the service brakes. The parking brake will not release until there is at least 65 psi of pressure in the brake system.
