E-mail clients are used to compose, send and receive e-mail. They are software applications that are installed on your machine. The e-mail client "talks" to the server where your mail is sent from and delivered. An e-mail server is a powerful computer that manages mail by storing messages, routing messages to other servers and generating error messages when things don't work quite right.

Transfer from the PocketPC to a PC can be performed many ways. The PocketPC can be placed in its docking station, or a serial cable, usb cable, infra-red link, modem, portable telephone, or internet connection can be used. In the docking station the data is quickly and automatically transferred. The EIS suite Eudora conduit defaults to downloading 250 characters during a hotsync as a result of which some messages may get truncated on the Palm device. To increase the number of characters downloaded during a hotsync, simply right-click on the hotsync icon in the system tray, choosing custom and clicking Eudora -> Change -> Sync with (client) to change the number of characters downloaded. Do you know if you are using a mail proxy server between Eudora and the mail server? Email Sentinel Pro scans only the POP3/IMAP/Hotmail connections and it does not "monitor" the traffic for outgoing emails (which is normally done via SMTP). So I suspect it might be a conflict between Email Sentinel and a mail proxy which is running on a port which Email Sentinel understands as POP3. With Eudora you must install the standard MAPI Client. Microsoft's MSN Internet service changed their outgoing mail servers (SMTP) to use Secure Password Authentication (SPA). Many e-mail programs do not support SPA on their SMTP mail servers. Only Microsoft Outlook 2000 (MFM is unsure about earlier versions), Outlook Express 5.0, 5.5, and 6.0 support SPA on their SMTP mail servers.
