What is the widest tire I can use?

_5
Assuming you've gone to a 17" wheel, 275s should fit without any problems. You should even be able to get away with 285s. As for 315s, they will stick out from under the wheel well, but not excessively. If you have a stock panhard rod, it's likely they will rub in inner wheel well under hard and uneven cornering, possibly resulting in loss of control of the vehicle. But a stiffer panhard rod and jounce bumper spacers (available from SLP), you'll be much safer.

On The Wings of Goodyear | RV Tires - Frequently Asked Quest...
Many owners like to use a variety of products, some of their own making, to either "shine" up their RV tires or prevent weathering and "dry rot". To combat weather cracking and dry rot, Goodyear uses anti-oxidants and anti-ozonants not only in the tire sidewall but in the tire casing as well. These anti-oxidants and anti-ozonants slowly make their way through to the sidewall to keep the sidewall looking great for many, many years.

Can I use tire chains on a Subaru?

Understanding Tires and Wheels: FAQ, Subaru sizes, codes
If you do a lot of winter driving, it's best to consider a set of winter snow/ice tires. Chains are not recommended on a Subaru, it's a clearance issue. Spider chains are ok because they don't go on the inside of the wheel. If you can't use those and absolutely must use chains, use 'Z' chains though again this is not recommended. Put on the front (or drive wheels if 2wd) and keep your speed down and make sure they're very tight.
