No. Skaters using the Skate Park are prohibited from consuming alcohol or using the facility under the influence of alcohol or any illegal substances.

The Skate Park is not lighted at this time. However, conduit was laid at the time of construction in anticipation of lights being added in the future should funding become available. Until such time, the Skate Park closes at dusk.

Absolutely no overnight camping is allowed in city parks. The Skate Park closes at dusk, and Cosmo Park closes at 12:00 midnight. Check the local phone book for available campgrounds.

No. On occasion, the restriction of bicyclists at Columbia Skate Park becomes a topic for discussion. Listed below is a brief history and position statement on the decision and future of bikes in the Columbia Skate Park. The original idea for a skate park was to provide a recreational opportunity for skateboarders. Parents, young adults, teenagers, and pre-teens organized into a non-profit skateboard organization dedicated to raising funds and lobbying the City Council for a skate park.

The Skate Park does not have restrooms, but the Antimi Sports Complex does. It is within walking distance as seen in the background in this photo. Restrooms are open from April 15 to October 15. A port-a-pot is placed at the Skate Park during from October 15 to April 15. In the foreground of the picture, Antimi Shelter lies adjacent to the skate park's entrance. The shelter has electricity, water, and light available, as well as 10 picnic tables, one double barbecue grill, and a pay phone.

The California Health and Safety code requires posting the requirement for helmets and pads at skateparks in order to limit the District's liability for accidents. Our liability insurance carrier mandates this, as well.

Passes can be purchased at any of the Town Hall ID dates. Proof of residency is required. (Drivers License and Utility Bill of the Parent or Guardian). You may also bring a color photo head shot to the recreation department located in the Town Hall building. The photo must be the same size used on a drivers license. Beer and wine are allowed in all parks from June 15 through October 31. It is only allowed with a reservation permit. It is also permissible inside the Douglas Walker shelterhouse year 'round.

Alcohol is allowed in the park and on the river but glass bottles are not allowed on the river or the banks of the river. Designate a driver if you plan on drinking at the park and please pick up your trash. Be considerate of others who use the park.

Snowskates are so versatile you can ride a just about anywhere. Popular places include streets, backyards, golf courses, picnic tables, resorts (where allowed), and open fields. All you need is a few inches of the white stuff to get going. Yes. The Police Department may issue a temporary permit for overnight parking for oversized vehicles owned by visitors or house guests temporarily visiting in the city. The permit is valid for a maximum period of seven (7) days and may not be issued to vehicles registered to a residence located within the city. Yes.

The main loop around the park is closed to cars all weekend year-round, and from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm and from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm on weekdays from January 1 through Thanksgiving. The Park is also closed to traffic year-round from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am. The biker/skater/runner lane on the main loop is always available for skating.

Alcohol is a drug, and its use is a serious problem among young people. However, alcohol does not remain in the blood long enough for most tests to detect recent use. Breathalyzers and oral fluid tests can detect current use. Adolescents with substance abuse problems are often polydrug users (they use more than one drug) so identifying a problem with an illicit or prescription drug may also suggest an alcohol problem.

City law prohibits alcohol in city parks. The only exceptions are for special events approved by the Superintendent.
