MCAT scores are good for a period of two years. For instance, April 2005 is the oldest MCAT accepted for entry with the 2008 first year class.

This will depend in part on the school. For many schools, your scores will be valid for five years. However for some, they will be valid for only three years. The medical schools count backward from the time you would matriculate into medical school to determine how old your scores are. So to determine if your scores are valid, determine when you would start medical school, and count back 3 or 5 years.

Once you have completed a Unit within a Course, go back and re-answer every question in that Unit. Your improved score for that Unit will then be recorded. If you are hoping to matriculate in a professional school the year after you graduate, you should take these exams in the spring of your Junior year. If you plan to do a gap year after you graduate, you should take the MCAT or GRE in the spring two years before you hope to matriculate. For example, if you plan to matriculate in Fall 2010, you will be applying in Fall 2009, which means you should take the MCAT or GRE no later than the Spring of 2009.

There are many things that affect an individual's progress in learning English such as motivation, amount of practice, the number of hours or weeks of classroom study, previous exposure to English, and the type and quality of instruction. No, your scores are automatically released to AMCAS. You will, however, need to have your scores sent to non-AMCAS schools through the online MCAT Testing History (MCAT THx) Reporting System. In addition, any results from MCATs taken prior to April 2003 must be released through MCAT THx.

The Committee on Admissions has established threshold levels for both the undergraduate GPA and the total numerical score on the MCAT exam. The minimal acceptable levels are an undergraduate GPA of 3.0, with a C or better in all prerequisite course work, plus a total numerical score of 22 on the MCAT examination. Applicants who do not meet the undergraduate GPA threshold of 3.0 may be considered if they have a GPA of 3.

The only applicants for whom later MCAT scores may be considered are those who were designated as Alternates for possible admission to the class entering 2008, if and when the Committee reviews those applicants.

Probably. The new AMCAS application will show your Testing History and include the date of every MCAT you have taken since 1991. It will also show your scores if you released them.
