Variblee rate springs defelct at different amounts per inch. An example would be: 200 lbs. = 1 inch deflection, 600 lbs. = 2 inch deflection, 1000 lbs. = 3 inch deflection, and so on. Varible coils have a soft initial spring rate and a much firmer spring rate to handle more weight, decrease sway, and improve handling.

For a Vega, shorter springs will be needed. This is because the Monza's lower control arm has a deeper spring pocket than the Vega's. So if you put Monza springs in a Vega, the front end will sit too high. You can either swap in Monza LCAs or... If you want to increase the spring rate on your car, use the V-8 Monza/Air conditioning springs. When I put new springs on my 74 panel I used these. I do recommend, if you are using the stock A-arms, cut 2 coils from the top of the new spring.

American made springs are manufactured to more exact standards and the material is far superior then that of imported spring steel with the exception of springs made in Canada. In the case of springs, you really do get what you pay for.

The hot springs originally bubbled to the surface in twelve pools. There are three shingled huts near the Wildlife Zoo where the springs come to the surface near the current resort. Now, most of the hot water comes from a 600 ft. well because this source is cleaner and hotter than water that has been allowed to bubble to the surface.
