If your glow necklace is rated for 8 hours, placing it in the freezer will not extend that rating, however, you can break up the 8 hours into smaller chunks. The fluids used in the chemical reaction are mildly toxic, but under normal abuse the outer casings of the sticks will not break. We've yet to see one do this, after long months of serious whappage.
