GATE is usually held on the second Sunday of February every year. Candidates will be required to appear in a single paper of three hours duration. The examination will be held on second Sunday of February from 0930 to 1230 hrs.

Pick up an Exam Rescheduling Request Form from the Registrar or the Dean's Office and turn it in to Eric Graham in the Registrar's Office. If you have two exams at the same time or three or more exams within 36 hours, your request will be granted. If neither of these conditions are met, you may not be able to postpone an exam. To present your request, please make an appointment with Dean Miller to discuss your unusual or compelling reasons.

Candidates will forfeit all registration and exam fees if failure to cancel or re-reschedule an exam results in a "no show" recording with AMP. No fees will be refunded if a candidate fails to test within an assigned 90-day period. If candidates have already scheduled an appointment and either withdraw or request an extension of the testing period, it is their responsibility to cancel and/or reschedule their AMP testing appointment with AMP.

Completed exams should be stapled or bound in a manner that keeps the coursework and examination organized. All final examinations should be typed, not handwritten. Students must be sure to include their name on every page of their exam. We do not allow plastic page dividers, sheet protectors or binders of any kind.

All retake timeframes are subject to compliance with Microsoft Certification Exam Retake rules, which state: If you do not pass an exam the first time, you may retake it at any time. If you do not achieve a passing score a second time, you must wait at least 14 days to retake the exam a third time. A 14-day waiting period will be imposed for all subsequent exam retakes. If you have passed an exam, you cannot take it again. Beta exams may be taken only once.

When exam vouchers are purchased you have up to one year from the date of purchase to use it. Each voucher is valid for one exam and may only be used at an Authorized Prometric Testing Center in the country for which it was purchased. Exam expiration dates cannot be extended. You must register and take your exam prior to the expiration date of your voucher.

Midterm and final examination dates are listed on the course materials and deadlines document provided in your course package. Final examination dates are listed on goSFU. Please note that distance courses are indicated by a C in the exam schedule.

All important dates can be kept track of on the academic calendar, but for specific information relating to the dates on your exams, visit SIMO.

Students may feel they do not have time at the end of a busy semester to fill in the evaluation or want to wait until after the final exams but the timing of the evaluation is important to preserve the relationship between faculty and student. The date of the close of the evaluation is selected very carefully by the SIPA Department of Faculty and Curriculum Affairs. Although it would be ideal to have the evaluations close after the final exam or paper, that is just not tenable.

You are permitted to bring for your use during the examination a silent, battery-operated, electronic, pocket-size calculator that does not have a print capability or an alphabetic keyboard. Cell phone calculators are not permitted. The following items are not permitted in the examination room: backpacks, briefcases, suitcases, food, drink, study materials, portable computers, PDAs (personal digital assistants), or programmable calculators.

The examination vendor will send examination information all scheduled eligible candidates approximately 2 weeks prior to the examination. (NOTE: The council staff does not send information to the candidates regarding the examination.)

If the Exam is given more than once then the student has the liberty to present the best of the scores.

Passengers who have checked-in online must be at the boarding gate 20 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time. We reserve the right to cancel your reservation and to deny you boarding if you do not comply with this deadline. Yes.

GATE 2006 pattern will be of objective type with a total of 150 questions to be answered in a total time of 3 hours.

a. The question paper will be fully objective type for a total of 150 marks divided into three groups: Marks for correct answers to Q77, 79, 81, 83, 85 will be given only if the answer to the corresponding previous question is correct. However, Q81b, 82b, 83b, 84b, 85b will not carry any negative marks. d. Papers bearing the code AG, CE, CH, CS, EC, EE, IN, IT, ME, MN, MT, PI, TF will contain questions on Engineering Mathematics to the extent of 20 to 25 marks.

Exams must be taken within one year of seminar attendance date or self- study purchase date for individual courses. In the case of CSEP or CSRP CD-ROM packages, all coursework and exams must be completed within 18 months.
