You clearly didn't read my guide good enough... the error message betrays you! You tried to load a .avs.txt file which won't work. Your file must end with .avs nothing else. Rename the file to movie.avs. You have to deactivate the DirectShow reader. In order to do so select Options, Environmental properties, click on the VFAPI-plugin tab and uncheck DirectShow Multimedia Reader. I prefer TMPEGEnc. However that's a personal preference..

Annoyingly enough, the QT file dialogs match in a case-sensitive manner, so .avi != .AVI. Since I'm not going to include every possible combination of upper and lower case in the filter I just use lower case. You can still use the All Files filter to select these however.

The video codec that is required to decode and display the video may not be installed on your computer. What does the "compression" value under the time lapse mean. There is another compression option under the "Options" icon where I can select my compression codec and select a level of compression but this doesn't change the compression value in the time-lapse section. The compression option under the 'Options' icon works with streaming avis. The 'compression' value under time lapse works with time-lapse ones.
