The Windows 2000 Resource Kit ships with the MOVETREE.EXE utility which can be used to move organization units, users or computers between domains in a single forest. This is useful for the consolidation of domains or to reflect organization restructuring.

Because of the complex replication available in Windows 2000 and the Active Directory just deleting an object would result in it potentially being recreated at the next replication interval and so deleted objects are 'Tombstoned' instead. This basically marks them as deleted and applies to all objects.

Install DirectX 7 (or later) and just click "Ok" when it looks for dx61eng.exe in the default directory and then click "No" when it asks if you would like to try another directory during the Art-o-matic install to ignore that prompt. Position the mouse over anything and press F1 key. Position the mouse over a menu item, button, check item, slider, window, object, ... anything! Then read the message at bottom of screen.

Go to object editing mode (CTRL_H) and select an object. You can move the object by dragging it with the mouse while holding the "M" key down.

object is a data record belonging to either a person or a domain. Therefore, a distinction is made between person objects and domain objects. A person object contains information such as name, address, telephone number, e-mail address of a person, whereas a domain object contains the technical data and person objects that are linked with a domain (via handles).

Everything on Earth is attracted to the Earth because there is a gravitational attraction between objects of mass. Therefore, the Earth, which is extremely massive, and an apple, that also has mass, would be attracted by gravitational force that would cause both objects to accelerate toward each other. The reason why the apple is moving more than the Earth is because the Earth has much more mass than the apple, thus more inertia; as a result, the Earth is less willing to move toward the apple.

In order to see an object, it must be emitting or reflecting light. We can see stars, lightning, and light bulbs because they are emitting or giving off light. And we depend on the light emitted from these objects in order to see objects that don’t emit light – we see those objects because they reflect light. A blade of grass, for example, does not emit light; however we see the blade of grass because it reflects existing light, specifically green light.

There are a number of methods available to name objects in the Active Directory, the most popular of which is the Distinguished Name or DN. An excellent RFC exists for DN explanation at http://www.cis.ohio-state.edu/htbin/rfc/rfc1779.html but I'll run over the basics here.

A: You'll notice that the hardbox around things like houses just doesn't do the job. Hardboxes have to be rectangular, and things like houses are too complex for this to work. There are at least three methods to "fill in" the hardness around a house. It's probably best to set its hardness type to 1 (not hard) and totally draw the hardness yourself as explained below. I use a combination of the first two usually.

By default Active Directory searches are limited to 10,000 objects in a search however this can be changed as your organization grows. This policy affects all browse displays associated with Active Directory, such as those in Local Users and Groups, Active Directory Users & Computers, and dialog boxes used to set permissions for user or group objects in Active Directory.

Like The Gimp, Dia depends heavily on a menu on the right mouse button inside the diagram. That menu contains all the diagram-specific actions and a few other things, so you almost never have to find the menu on the toolbox. A snapshot shows an example of the menu. You can change to having a "normal" menu bar in the Preferences dialog. Note that this will only affect diagrams opened after the preferences are changed. The preferences dialog only affects diagrams that are created thereafter.

Following the success of Dark Side of the Moon, the Floyd were in something of a quandry as to what to do next. One idea they had was to try to create an entire album using only sounds produced by common household objects. However, if we assume that the distance of an object at time t is the distance from our position at time t to the object's position at time t measured by a set of observers moving with the expansion of the Universe, and all making their observations when they see the Universe as having age t, then the velocity (change in D per change in t) can definitely be larger than the speed of light.

One famous example of objects with different redshifts appearing in the same part of the sky is Stephan's Quintet. But the low redshift galaxy (in the lower left) is obviously more resolved into stars and looks "bumpier". By the surface brightness fluctuation method of distance determination, this bumpiness means that the low redshift galaxy is indeed much closer to us than the other four members of the quintet.
