The "W" stands for "Writing Link." Any course designated with a "W" at the end of the course number will be the same as the one described in the Undergraduate Catalog (e.g., ENG 101W is the same as ENG 101), except that it is part of the Writing Links program and, we feel, enhanced by virture of its being linked to another course.

No notation will be made on your transcript if you drop courses or withdraw from Summer Sessions prior to the last day of the session. But be sure to verify your Summer Sessions enrollment status. Do not anticipate that the University will automatically drop you from a class due to nonpayment or non-attendance. You may drop your classes by using URSA OnLine or by submitting a Student Update Form to the Registrar's Office at 1113 Murphy Hall.

You need to be aware of a sobering reality: admission to a health professions school is a highly competitive process. This means, of course, that these schools will draw candidates from the high end of the GPA range. Consider these statistics. The most common GPA for applicants admitted to medical schools nationwide, for example, is 3.75. At Upstate Medical University, the median overall GPA for accepted applicants is around 3.65 (3.57 for the science GPA).

Undergraduate students may "FX" up to 15 credit hours of course work that has been taken on the IUPUI campus. The "FX" says that your "F" has been deleted from your GPA, however, the "FX" will always appear on your transcript. The FX option may not apply to all courses offered through the School of Education and is NOT an option for graduate students.

Putnam evaluates all applications received and understands that extenuating circumstances may have had an effect on an applicant's grades for a semester or two. While we have not set GPA requirement, a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.30 is preferred, and candidates should have a track record of success in rigorous analytic courses including microeconomics, calculus and statistics.

The only requirement for membership is having lost a loved one to a death. There are no dues, or fees, no subscription, no entry form. There is only the need to learn, listen, grieve, perhaps to share. It is expected that one share one's circumstance at least once. G.P.A. stands for Grade Point Average, which is calculated by dividing the total number of grade points obtained (credit hours x grade points) by the number of credit hours attempted during the period in question.

I'm afraid I don't remember it, exactly. As an undergrad, it was roughly 3.75, and I graduated magna cum laude with high honors. As a grad, it was roughly 3.85. Pretty much everyone in grad school has a high GPA, though. Oh, and the grading at UCLA is easier than the grading at Cal Poly Pomona, so it's little bit easier to get a 3.75 there than it is here.
