Black screens on some ROMs only may indicate that there is a problem with the emulation of that ROM or that you have an old version of the emulator. Please verify if a newer version exists and, if not, please contact the author.

It is likely that you have run into the USB problems that Windows 98 has brought with it. If you have a USB device plugged into your computer (Gamepads etc) then sometimes, when you shut down into DOS - Windows 98 will give you a blue screen error, that only a reboot can fix. This is a known problem with the ATI Mach 64 video card. The problem is that this card uses address 2e8, and the fourth serial port does too. Due to a bug (feature?) in the sio(4) driver it will touch this port even if you do not have the fourth serial port, and even if you disable sio3 (the fourth port) which normally uses this address. Disable sio0, sio1, sio2 and sio3 (all of them). This way the sio driver does not get activated -> no problems.

Your monitor resolution is set larger than the display area of the software. Space Update runs at a resolution of 640x480 pixels, while Earth Update runs at 800x600. To get the software to run full screen adjust your monitor settings in your System's Control Panels. Digital widescreen sets do not show these bands, and most widescreen TVs allow the viewer to "zoom" into the picture.

Your display settings exceed the capabilities of the LCD monitor. You must reduce the settings. Reconnect the original monitor into the video card and reboot to Windows. Reduce the refresh rate to 60hz and reduce the resolution to 640x480 pixels. Reconnect the LCD monitor back into the video card and boot the computer. You should have a picture at this time. I've used a hardware dependent short cut to get the image data. Whilst this works with most graphics cards, it led to colour problems in the saved image with others.

There could be various reasons for this. Always remember that the 3D shutter glasses and emitters are fragile and need to be handled with care. If you have a LCD, HDTV or Plasma monitor, shutter glasses are not compliant. 3D shutter glasses work with sequential video fields for standard TV monitors using line resolution. If you are using a projection TV with a LINE DOUBLER, you must turn off the line doubler to view this program. The batteries inside your glasses could be dead.

The only reason imaging works is that after the image is applied, a mini-hardware detection process is run through, which notices differences in things like network and video cards in your computer relative to the computer where the image was taken, and installs the correct drivers.
