Douching is not recommended during pregnancy. But if you desire to douche, you should take the following precautions. Avoid injecting air into the vagina. Make sure the bottle is full of water and there is no air. Do not inset the nozzle more than 3 inches through the vagina. Use a douche with water mildly acidified with vinegar.
