The web application of the Diseases Database is intended as an 'aide memoir' and World Wide Web springboard for medically qualified health professionals and medical students. The Database itself provides A classification of medical concepts along clinical axes (e.g. cause-effect, risk factors, interactions etc) rather than hierarchies of anatomical, physiological or pathological systems.

The list of plant names is available here: http://calphotos.berkeley.edu/select_lists/plant_taxon_list.txt It includes over 6,000 scientific names along with the number of photos we have for that species. This text file is in delimited format so that it can be parsed by a program or loaded into a speadsheet or database. It is updated nightly.

Payment (most shelters do NOT accept credit cards), and often a photo identification (driver's license, etc.). Also, make sure you bring something to keep the animal secure -- a collar and leash for a dog, or a carrier for a cat. We do not have the resources to maintain these! Whilst most human diseases are represented in one or more mammals, there are thousands of disorders affecting other mammals which do not afflict humans. Diseases of non-human animals that may be transmitted to or from man (Zoonoses) are of course included. Arguably each species warrants its own Diseases Database 'subset'.

If you are a beginner you probably should try to find a bamboo nursery somewhere near you. A local nursery would be familiar with your climate and soil conditions. If you can’t find one, then you can contact one of the suppliers close to you, who are willing to ship bamboo, and ask for advice. Be sure to tell them your hottest and coldest days, what your soil is like and how much rain you get.

It is an offence to release into the wild a bird or animal that is of a kind not normally resident in Great Britain, unless you obtain a licence to do so. This ban extends to many foreign animals that have become established here, such as the grey squirrel, and also to some native species, such as the barn owl. We need both animal and plant protein. The best sources of animal protein are eggs, milk, and cheese. The best sources of plant protein are beans, nuts, and seeds. When it comes to protein, people tend to be extremists. There are strict vegetarians (called vegans) who eat no animal protein, and there are meat eaters who eat no plant protein. Both extremes are wrong, and both diets can make us sick. Animal and plant protein complement each other and ensure a healthy diet.

It was only released about 12 years ago on an MGM/UA video tape (VHS) called "PORKY!". It's been out of print for a few years but you may be able to find it on eBay or for rent at an old video store. Almost all orchids drop leaves as they grow. Phalaenopsis plants bottom leaves will turn yellow and fall off when it starts to produce new growth. Common white and purple Dendrobiums often drop all their leaves on each cane after they have finished blooming. With most orchids, old leaf growth naturally drops once new growth starts to emerge. The only time you should be concerned about leaves dropping is when the new growth or large & mature leaves turn yellow or fall off.

This is a personal preference, but we recommend a men’s frame hybrid or mountain bike with bar-end extenders or ram-horn style handlebars. In '94 I used my Ultimate Extender, supplimented with a standard day pack to carry all my extra warm clothes until I needed to put them on.
