Is the Radar Imagery really Free?

StormPredator - Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, absolutely. The NEXRAD radar network is owned by the Taxpayers of the USA, its data is public domain. There will never be a charge for accessing the radar images direct from the National Weather Service. The only exception may be that in the future, we may offer a subscription service for enhanced or custom radar imagery for a particular purpose, such as a custom private branded location.

How does Guided Imagery differ from hypnosis?

FAQ
Basically, the two processes are very similar. Guided Imagery, however, is a much lighter trance and allows you much more freedom to have an experience unique to you. Whereas hypnosis deals primarily with behavior modification with specific instructions and commands, imagery is more free flowing, affording new information and insight from the client, not the therapist. What is Radar?

Draft rec.boats.cruising FAQ
Radar helps you see what's around you. An antenna mounted high above your boat (often on the mast of a sailing vessel) sends radar waves down towards the ground, hoping to pick up reflections of land or other boats below. It's not foolproof - it can often pick up images of waves instead of real objects - but it definitely helps you see what's around you, especially in conditions of poor visibility. Does the officer have to show me the radar/laser reading?

Speeding Ticket FAQ
This is not required in any jurisdiction. Also, whether the officer allows you to see the speed reading has virtually no bearing on your case. Officers can lock on radar readings and leave them on to display to any hapless victim, even though it was not their vehicle that registered the displayed speed. See similar questions...

How does the radar work?

NWS JetStream - RIDGE Radar Frequently Asked Questions
NEXRAD (Next Generation Radar) obtains weather information (precipitation and wind) based upon returned energy. The radar emits a burst of energy (green). If the energy strikes an object (rain drop, bug, bird, etc), the energy is scattered in all directions (blue). A small fraction of that scattered energy is directed back toward the radar. This reflected signal is then received by the radar during its listening period. See similar questions...

Other radar imagery is rectangular, yours is round, am I missing anything?

StormPredator - Frequently Asked Questions
No, even though it may "appear" that the round scan zone is "cutting off" the edges of a radar map...there is no radar imagery there at all, because the actual NEXRAD radar creates a round scan zone, not a rectangular one. For example, see the image below of Hurricane Isabel making landfall, which fills the entire circular scan zone of the Morehead City, NC NEXRAD image, but not the map corners. What is Guided Imagery?

FAQ
A client is talked into a light, relaxed state, then is directed by a therapist to "see" a specific situation or circumstance in his mind, and then to allow the imagination to unfold a story. It's much like having a dream in an awake state. The story is literally tapping into the subconscious, where much truth can be learned. The process is lead by the client's subconscious insights and not by the Therapist. See similar questions...
