Make sure not to graduate too quickly from a 180 file to the white block. Try using the white block buffer a little longer than seems necessary. Be sure to wipe all grit and dust from the nail and the 3-way buffer, as even the smallest amount of dust will prevent a high gloss. Cuticle oil may be helpful. There may be a slight color variation from batch to batch. Allow the polish to dry completely before you decide it doesn't match.

The Satin finish is a matte finish and the easiest to maintain. Because it has a low sheen, it is very forgiving insofar as showing scratches, dents, and wear and tear over time. The High Gloss finish is the hardest to maintain in that it shows everything - dust, dirt, scratches, dents, and wear and tear in general the quickest.

Mothers, and other brands of polish simply smooth the high points and remove oxidation, leaving a shiny appearance, only to quickly re-oxidize due to the open grain finish. Mechanical finishing, buffing by machine, literally levels all the microscopic imperfections on the surface, leaving a tight grain structure at the surface, resulting in more clarity and a much longer lasting, nicer finish.

No, it is not necessary and takes away the layers that give the nail its strength. If you must buff the nail, do so only once or twice a year using a natural buffer. Also, buff in the direction the nails grow, not side to side, to avoid splitting.

Due to the heavy loading of ceramic particles and solids into our CERAM-KOTE coatings, a true high gloss cannot be achieved with CERAM-KOTE epoxy coatings.
