You will then need a soldering iron to "weld" the repair material into the damaged area.

The hull construction of a Boston Whaler differs from most all other recreational boats. Accordingly, if the hull becomes damaged, special techniques need to be used in making the repairs. The recommendations of the factory for repair techniques applicable to a Boston Whaler hull are extremely well illustrated in a separate article in the Reference section. The area inside the hull surrounding the damage should be abraded with coarse abrasive paper. During the manufacturing process of composite kayaks, the first step consists in applying gelcoat, which is done directly in the mould. If you apply gelcoat on your kayak to make it look better, its weight will increase by 7 pounds; furthermore, the result would be an "orange peel" finish. To obtain a glossy finish, it would be necessary to sand your kayak many times, which would be a very long and expensive process.

Car repair is optional; as in solo play, it depends on the difficulty level selected by the host. In Novice and Intermediate races, the car can be repaired by hitting Shift-R. In Pro races, Shift-R is disabled in races, and in Grands Prix, it's always disabled.
