It is advisable not to locate any pool pump under someone's bedroom window. The pump's sounds can be caused by vibrations between the pump base and the base or concrete pad it is sitting on. A piece of old carpet or rubber between the pump and base may quiet the sound. The bearings may be noisy due to normal wear.

Excessive water flow due to an oversized pump or undersized backwash valve may be the problem. To test, partially hold you hand in front of any return fitting or partially close a valve after the last piece of equipment. If the noise quiets down, this will confirm that the problem is excessive flow. First check to be sure the pump is fully submerged in the water. 99.9% of the time, a pump is making noise because there is not enough water in the fountain. Add water until the noise stops. It may take the fountain a few minutes for the pump and tubing to clear out air bubbles which will make some noise but it will stop once the air is cleared out.
