Solid wood can mean one single board or plank of lumber having no additional wood glued to it. Very few pieces of furniture made today will utilize single boards. However, many antiques have single board tops and sides. Several wood boards glued together is also considered solid wood. Furniture makers have found that a board of this combination is less likely to warp or split than one single board.

The answer is that both are good. Neither solid wood nor veneer is, by itself, a measure of better quality furniture. If comparable craftsmanship is used, the quality of a solid wood or veneered piece of furniture should be the same. What is the best way to dust my furniture? Twice a month dusting of all your furniture is recommended to keep dust from accumulating. Use a soft, lint-free cotton cloth such as an old t-shirt or baby diaper. Very lightly dampen (NEVER wet) the cloth with water.

While we do keep a good inventory of items in our retail store, it is impossible to predict who will order what. This means that in many cases, your order will have to be hand-forged by the blacksmith just for you! We quote lead times of 4 to 6 weeks because there are many steps involved in getting the product to you before and after its made. However, your order may actually be shipped earlier than our quoted lead times. We will always let you know when it ships.

Our lead times vary with the piece and the time of year, generally running between 4 and 6 months. That amount of time is required because every piece we make is hand built to order by one of 4 craftsmen, one piece at a time. Good things come to those who wait!

For most artists, the first decision of form begins with the raw log and a chainsaw. The second decision of form is made while the piece spins on the lathe and is dependent on the grain pattern and the wood. Often, once the artist starts cutting the raw wood, he or she will find grain patterns or effects that weren't expected.

This means that at the time that the simulation step ended, not all of the nodes in your simulation have settled. You can find out which nodes have pending events with the printp command. If your circuit is still working, then even if you have pending events it is ok. However, this might be an indication that if your increase your clock speed much more, your circuit will begin to operate incorrectly.

Yes. Our retrofit does not require you to splice together multiple pieces to get a functioning product. Straightness, rigidity, and accuracy are maintained using a single, solid piece. You should not have to sacrifice straightness, rigidity, and accuracy just so a package can ship with smaller dimensions. It's just smarter to pay a little more for freight now, instead of having a hard time adjusting and lining up parts when installing, and having to worry about their accuracy.

Assembly times can vary considerably. Some models can be assembled in an hour or two, while others may take several hours. The assembly process is relatively simple, but can be time consuming. The more experience you have with our furniture, the faster the job will go. Working with someone can also cut your assembly time considerably.

Seriously; every piece of wood I decide to use for an instrument, is first tested for tone response, by placing tuning fork to all sides and ends of the wood along with tapping the wood, and listening to it's tone. This sounds a bit odd, but some cuts of wood will actually carry tone better on one side compared to the other side. So, if one side sounds better, and if it's a body blank, then the "sweet side" becomes the top.

Firstly production costs. There are few different thicknesses of material in a Drawhive. It would require a fairly large production run, to make it economically viable to machine this timber and produce the corner joints. Whereas plywood is easily available in wide panels of the required thickness and doesn't require comb joints. Secondly, shrinkage problems.

Solid wood flooring is made of solid hardwood. It comes in many forms (strip. plank, blocks, parquet battens and mosaic) and can be purchased pre-finished in either oil or urethane. Some solid flooring is laid unfinished (e.g. Blocks, Planks and strip) and may require sanding and sealing following the installation process. This method allows the purchaser to choose their own individual finish and is becoming more popular with customers who want something different

Solid products, available in planks, strips or parquet, are manufactured from a solid piece of wood.
