It depends on your application. If you desire a wider color gamut, dye-based inks are preferable but do not last as long as UV. UV ink images tend to be less crisp looking, however these inks do not fade as fast as dye, and when used with the appropriate media they also offer water resistance.

Blue dye and UV light can be used with the Natural Pond Treatment products. It is important to remember that these approaches treat the symptoms of problems, while the Natural Pond Treatment treats the root cause.

The human eye is most sensitive to UV fluorescence at a wavelength of 550nm. Spectronics additive is designed to fluoresce the brightest at 550nm making even pin hole leaks easier to detect. UV inks cures only by exposure to ultraviolet light - not evaporation ? and are 100% solid (solvent and water-based inks are approximately 50% solid and 50% solvent or water).

Ultra-Violet (UV) curable screen inks have different properties than water and solvent-based inks. Because 100 percent polymerization or cure cannot be achieved or guaranteed in the UV process, there is the possibility that untreated residual monomers, oligomers and photo initiators remain in and on the surface of the printed ink film and may migrate to the food product.

Based purely on longevity or light fastness of the inks, pigment-based inks are by far the best. They were originally designed for use in the outdoor sign printing industry because of their resistance to ultraviolet (UV) light. This UV component is what ultimatelyprovides them over 100 years longevity. Dye-based inks on the other hand, offer the least longevity, though they do have potential a slightly larger colour gamut than pigment-based inks.

Ultraviolet (UV) light is at the invisible, violet end of the light spectrum. Even though we can't see UV light, we are exposed to UV rays from all light sources, including the sun.

Like any decorated products, direct sunlight will cause sublimated products to fade over time. Factors that affect fading are temperature and weather - for example an area with more direct sunlight and dry, arid conditions will probably contribute to faster fading. With that being said, the ArTainium2UV+ inks are specially designed for longer UV resistance.

It's not recommended to switch continuously between dye sublimation inks and regular inks - most dye sublimation printers have a printer dedicated to sublimation printing. Notwithstanding, it is possible to switch between regular inks and sawgrass dye sublimation inks. When switching, it's important to perform cleaning maintenance between the ink changeover. Refer to your epson manual for cleaning procedures.

All the inks are water-based and approved for cosmetic use. In the unlikely event of irritation, the ink should be washed off immediately with soap and water.

We use U.V. curable inks. These inks have a high gloss finish and are weather and chemically resistant.

We use water-based acrylic ink created for flexographic presses. We also have silicone-free inks available.
