I let them go at 8 weeks old only because 99% of people want them as young and as tiny as possible. I used to sell them at 10 weeks old, but found out that was really bad for business. Now, I let them go at 8 weeks old, but only after I warn people that if you expect to go to work all day long come home and throw food at your puppy, and then go out to dinner, do not expect a healthy puppy when you return home, and have your credit card ready for vet bills.

Most of our puppies are ready to go at 9 to 10 weeks. Great people that have no interest in showing or breeding their Frenchie, but want a "pet" that conforms to the standard of the breed, and that comes from a gene pool of sound, health screened dogs.

Little kittens are definitely appealing. We understand that you want to get your kitten when it's a cute and cuddly baby, however, that is not in the best interest of the kitten.....or for YOU in the long run! Kittens need time to allow their immune systems to develop before being challenged. Moving, adapting to a new family, adjusting to a new environment, and leaving mother and siblings behind are all very stressful for a kitten.

You can give the babies away when they are weaned from their mother (no longer need to drink her milk). Watch to see when she ceases to nurse her babies. This is usually around 4 to 5 weeks. Some moms seem like they would be happy to nurse their babies forever, and some will begin the weaning process as early as 3 weeks. It depends on the mother's personality. Since the babies need to be separated by sex at 5 weeks old, that is a good time to give them to their new owners.

Yes. Dogs like routine and once a routine is established for them in their new home, they are quick to settle in. Indeed there are distinct advantages to choosing an older puppy or an adult dog instead of a tiny puppy. An older dog might be the best choice for very young children, as they are better able to tolerate rough play and are less likely to be seriously injured if tripped upon by a toddler.

We do not know of any Airlines that will accept puppies for shipment prior to the age of 8 weeks. We also will not ship a puppy that we feel is not mature enough or stable enough to handle the trauma of a shipment. We will either delay shipment or deny placement of that pup with that person unless they come and pick it up. Also, some puppies are just too small for to be shipped in the cargo hold, and we will require the new owner to come and pick it up.
