Southern Africa, Australia and Argentina are in the Southern hemisphere, so seasons are opposite - and there are good times to go, in each area, all year round. Winters are a wonderful time - cool rather than cold, and of course spring and fall are perfect. Summers in most places are less hot than you might imagine, so let's talk to discuss options. East Africa is on the equator, where weather issues revolve around a couple months of rainy season.

July is usually the only month where a sweater or jacket will not be needed. Temperatures in June and August can dip into the 40's or 50's, so it is always a good idea to bring warm clothes. The weather is unpredictable most of the year, so you should be prepared for rain (particularly in Galicia), day-time heat and cold nights, especially in the Pyrenees, and the high passes in Galicia. See above "What about going in winter?" for advice on crossing the mountains in winter weather.

According to Promperú, the driest months are from May to September, the winter months in the Southern hemisphere. Temperatures can fall below freezing above 4500m, and it may be windy from August onwards. During the spring, September to December, there are likely to be early afternoon showers (sometimes accompanied by electrical storms) of short duration, and it may be cloudy and overcast. Nights during this season are clear (which means cold at high altitude).

The weather in Montana is as varied as its landscape. Summer days are often pleasant and dry and evenings are crisp and cool. Late June and early July are when the wildflowers really explode. The average temp is 70's to low 80's during the day, cooling at to 40-50's at night. Mid July to late August are probably the most popular time, so that space fills quickly. This is the warmest time, 75-85 during the day, cooling to 40-50's at night. August is always a nice month for long clear days.

November to March - warmest weather but this is the busy summer season when all facilities are often heavily booked especially in the holiday resorts. All facilities are operating and there is plenty of entertainment. April/May - Autumn in New Zealand. Temperatures are a little lower but still generally nice weather. There are less people travelling at this time so facilities can be less crowded and the autumn colours, often clear skies and settled weather make this a popular time to travel.

Briefly, the weather in Cyprus is recognised as the best in the Mediterranean area. Paphos in particular, enjoys 50 weeks per year of beautiful warm or hot weather. If you enjoy very hot temperatures then July and August is the time for you.

Almost ideal year-round, the climate is a moderate 72 degrees in the highlands, while the lowlands and coastal areas range from the low 70's to the high 90's. Evenings in San Jose are free of humid heat, and beaches are cooled by ocean breezes. Rainy season occurs from the end of May to November, with the heaviest rainfall in October.

The most popular times for weather in Italy are generally (1) from the end of March through June and (2) from September through the middle of November. In March and November, the weather can swing through a broad range of temperatures, cooler but usually not wintry. July and August will certainly be hot and humid, with temperatures in the 90's. December through February, temperatures range from the 30's to the 50's but are typically in the 40's.

Most visitors agree the best time is during the winter months when there is less chance of tropical rains and good reason to escape the weather at home. However, you certainly will not be alone should you choose to come during the spring or summer when many families visit the area. You take more chance on the weather when you come in the fall, due to the risk of hurricane and higher rainfall averages. However, having said that, I have friends come to visit every October.

This depends of current weather. It's a mountain region so there may be snow storm even in July-August. Normally you can wear T-short or even a swim suite in the valley on a sunny day but a jacket may be necessary at night. And of course you need enough warm clothes for high altitude hikes.

It seems unlikely there will be snow, but this is the upper midwest of the United States, and we can't totally rule it out. More likely, it will be between 40F (4C) and 80F (26C), and since it's spring, it will probably rain.

Ghana is very close to the equator, and so the weather is quite warm and tropical. There are two rainy seasons, one from April to June, and the other from September to October. This differs slightly from the more northern regions, but volunteers will most likely be stationed in the south. During the hottest months temperatures may get up to 100F, while during the rainy months temperatures will stay around 70F, though it will be much more humid.
