Should I buy a CRT monitor or a flat panel?

Computer Depot - FAQs
Flat panel monitors are close to becoming the norm in the industry and with dorm room space constraints, the premium associated with upgrading to a flat panel often outweighs the CRT choice consideration. Some dorms have built-in desks with just enough room for a flat panel monitor, leaving more desktop space than the standard CRT monitor. This purchasing decision is one of personal preference.

So to convert 15ms into hz it would be 1 / (15 ms * 1 s / 1000 ms) = ~67hz Here is a small chart detailing some of the more common LCD ms ratings and their relationship to Hz. Notice the non-liinear relationship between milliseconds and hz. As milliseconds get smaller, the corresponding hz gets larger a lot faster. See similar questions...

CSI Technical F.A.Q.
Your notebook may not have infrared hardware installed. There would be no point for the manufacturer to have added this extra applet within Control Panel. Flat panel speakers and conventional speakers make sound in totally different ways. You don't want to put a 60" TV on a 70" wall as it will feel too crowded and leave no room for speakers and other accessories. Also, when considering mount and display placement, it's always a good idea to be able to minimize the amount of ambient light that hits your screen.
