You are comparing apples and oranges. The technology is different, you lose a little picture quality with LCDs. CRTs at this time are the clearest picture of the two. I'm using the CRT with the LCD DISCONNECTED, and I have set my CRT to be 1600x1200. I powered off the system and reconnected the LCD, and it came up at 640x480. This is normal. The simple answer is where you are most comfortable watching it. Again, size can be a deciding factor. You don't want to put a 60" TV on a 70" wall as it will feel too crowded and leave no room for speakers and other accessories.
