This happens when 'stackable' switches are stacked. The firmware in the stacked switches use a method to determine port numbers. IntraVUE reports the same numbers as the switch reports. As far as we know, there is no way to configure this in the switch, it is what it is.

The port numbers in a knock are also arbitrary. They should be ports that are normally not used by other services, although this isn't a critical point. The server allocates some number of closed ports (e.g. 256) to participate in the knock mechanism.
