We supply several different types of veneer logs and sawlogs….Black Walnut, Red Oak, White Oak, Ash, Poplar, Hickory, Aromatic Red Cedar, Basswood, Beech, Cherry, Buckeye, Hard and Soft Maple. We can also supply White and Yellow Pine.

We use a sawn log cant of 6" x 12", 8" x 12" dimension and offer a larger, special quot; x 14" size cant. Western White Pine is primarily used for our wall logs. We have found that its straight grain and a minimal amount of checking makes it a highly suitable wood for house logs. We also use Balsam Fir and Spruce. For our timber framed roof and floor systems, Douglas Fir and Western Larch is used, utilizing their higher strength qualities.

No respectable loggers will display any messages with the keyword "nolog". Since many logs are publically accessible to any Web user, you may wish to use this if you are mocking your employer. There are many types of synthetic (manufactured) logs on the market. You need to carefully read the instructions on the packaging. Those instructions should clearly mention whether the logs are approved for use in a fireplace (freestanding stove, zero clearance fireplace, or fireplace insert). If there is no restriction mentioned on the packaging, try to contact the log manufacturer. Some types of synthetic logs are forbidden for use in freestanding stoves.

We are building a cellular level model of the rat Neocortical Column at the age of 2 weeks. This region has the most quantitative data and can also be tested rigorously in parallel with the simulations. Once we have built an accurate copy, we can use this column as a template to include neurons and connections from other brain regions, ages of the animal and species. In principal the template will allow us to build a neocortical column from any species.
