The number of Section 8 vouchers is limited by federal funding. There are presently about 34,000 Section 8 vouchers in Connecticut. They are obtained by applying to housing authorities or the Department of Social Services. All of these sources, however, have waiting lists, many of which are quite long. Most of the time, the waiting lists are "closed," that is, they do not accept new applicants.

The Northville Housing Commission does not administer the Section 8 Rental Assistance Program.
