Before stenciling the fabric, wash and dry it according to label instructions. This will remove the sizing (chemical coating) in new fabric. If the sizing is not removed, your stencil paint will not bond well with the material. When stenciling on fabric, it is much easier if you can keep the fabric from moving around. Do this by using a light coat of spray adhesive on a piece of cardboard that is about 2" larger than the piece of fabric you want to stencil.

A stencil is, to put it simply, a piece of polyester stencil film with a pattern cut out. They come in many styles, sizes and configurations such as borders, repeats, motifs, panels and tiles. The beauty of stencilling is that you have absolute control over where you put the pattern, how you use it and the colours that you use. Stencils are an incredibly flexible decorating tool. You can also use it to add pattern to different surfaces: walls, floors, furniture, fabrics to name a few.

Clean the screen, prime with spray primer (this is actually an optional step), paint the screen. Then stencil. I use cosmetic sponge wedges for the big solid color areas and shade with brushes. You can use the Americana Acrylic paint for the base and shade with the Easy Blend Dry Brush Paint. The largest part of our line consists of single overlay stencils cut on 12 mil (.012", not millimeters) plastic. This is a sturdy plastic that can be used for any craft or painting purpose. They have become extremely popular for dimensional stenciling because they are thicker than the laser stencils on the market today and give you a wonderful, strong, raised look. brush or stippling stenciling technique, and you should have no problems.

You can stencil on glass but realize that it will wash off unless you use a glass paint. I use Delta's PermEnamel Glass Paint. It is permanent after 10 days of air drying-no heat setting required.

A component stencil is an individual object such as a flower pot that can be combined with other stencils to create a scene or a still life on your wall.

A theorem stencil is a stencil with multiple layers of film. Each layer of film has cut outs that when the layers are all stenciled the resultant picture looks as if it has been hand painted. There are no spaces between the elements in the design.

A laser stencil is simply a stencil design that has been cut by a laser beam. Laser stencils are typically on slightly thinner mylar than other stencils. They are still very durable but a little more care needs to be taken when cleaning or handling the stencil. You may use it either way, however, it's probably best to place the rough side against the wall to prevent shifting.

We recommend combining equal parts of our Apple Barrel Acrylic paint with DecoArt's Candle Painting Medium. The candle medium will allow the acrylic paint to adhere to the candle without running or separating.

We hold the stencil in house for 60 days from the date of your order. At that time they are recycled. A stencil can be returned to the customer for no charge (except for shipping) upon request. The stencil requires packaging separate from your order so we need to charge $30.00 extra shipping to return a stencil to you.

Stencil cremes are a type of paint that has the consistency of lipstick or a solid shoe polish. You can stencil on walls, fabric, wood, metal and most surfaces with the stencil cremes and they clean up easily with soap and water.

From the results pad, right click on your selected device or product line and choose Open Stencil. A stencil of the selected equipment will launch within Visio.

Stencil Spray feels like silkscreen when it's dry! Simply Spray is soft when dry! Stencil Spray is a thicker paint that should only be used for stenciling. It does not spray in a fine mist, it sprays thick, like a stream, and is meant to spray in a sweeping motion.

Yes (why else would this be a question? ;-). If you've requested a backbuffer format with stencil (D24S8) and you're not using the stencil, make sure you clear it anyway when you clear the z-buffer. Otherwise our driver must assume there's something in stencil that you need and the clear will not be as fast. If you request a format without stencil (any 16-bit format, or D24X8) this is not necessary.

Sorry, but custom lettering stencils are designed for one-time use only. If you wanted to re-use the stencil, this would require repositioning letter centers, which is very difficult. However, if you would like a re-usable stencil, we can help you. We have the materials and capabilities to produce lettering stencils that you can use over and over just like our other home decorating stencils. List this in the box entitled "special nature of your request" on the special request form.

No single cutout can be bigger than 12 inches by 24 inches. Overall size is not limited in length but cannot be more than 26 inches wide. Items larger than 12" x 24" incur oversize charges that are job specific and so must be quoted in the context of a specific job.
